"Thank you."
(Y/N) stayed frozen at the skeletons words. After a moment, her body relaxed, and started to grip around him, given him a silent answer. "You're welcome. " After another few seconds, they released their grip on each other and looked back into the mist... The place where they saved the Papyrus from. Sans walked back over to is brothers side, but before (Y/N) could turn her head away, she saw silhouette in the mist. It was humanoid, and around the same sizes are. Once I saw it, it seemed to take a step back.
"Kara?" (Y/N) mumbled, Their eyes widening. Then the figure retreated back, disappearing into the mist. "Kara? " she called out, waking closer to the mist. Sans and Papyrus heard her and turned their heads to face her. As she stepped closer, she saw the Silloway again. I seem to be laughing, before it run off again. "Kara!" She called loudly as she ran into the mist after the figure.
Was it luring her, escaping her.... Or mocking her?
Papyrus looked at her entry point confused, while Sans eye sockets widened with worry. "Oh man, not again!" Sans said to him self as he looked up to his brother. "Pap, I'm going to go after her, wait for me Grillbys-no wait the shop. I'll be right back! "Sans said, running into the mist.
"Sans wa-!" Papyrus began, but you can finish it. His brother was already gone. His face twisted with concern and confusion. What what was going on?
Sans run to the halfway point in the mist and then stopped to look around. He swore he saw figure next to him, but As soon as he looked in its direction, it was gone. He could feel his adrenaline start to pump again. "(Y/N)? "He called out. He was quiet for a second... He soon heard her voice, further on in the mist. He started to move towards her voice, but as soon as he did, he could've sworn that he had something behind him. He glanced backwards, but he only saw fog...
Sans continued further, until he reached the opposite end of the mist. He looked down and saw her footprints in the snow, and saw that they disappeared from where the snow met the rock of Waterfall. Sans took in a deep breath as he walked towards Waterfall.
PLAY SONG ABOVE PLEASE!
After walking through the cavernous hall, he entered the first area, and instantly saw that the usual monsters that hang around.... We're gone. Even little monster kid wasn't there. And he's always there... A drops of sweat start to form on his skull. This was just like the areas around Snowdin...
He glanced to his left and saw an Echo flower. Curious, he walked over to it. He could hear (Y/N)'s faint voice, call out for Kara. Right afterwards, he heard a really creepy laugh come from the flower. His metaphorical blood froze. He had to find (Y/N). He looks next to the flower. And saw a save file. He placed his hand to it, and the screen popped up, and saw that she saved recently. Very, recently. She must be close by.
I soon is it and is another area, he saw her sitting on the wooden duck right before the flow in water. He allowed a sigh of relief and then walked next to her.
He took a seat next to her, but she didn't seem to notice. Her head was tilted down slightly with her hair blocking her view from her face.
"Heh, you should really warn us before you take off like that, kid." He said. She didn't respond. "Or I guess I could say you made my blood run cold..." He winked. He saw a slight response from her. Her smile fell again. Well then. "What's wrong?" He asked.
(Y/N) brought her arm up to her face and wiped her eyes with the sleeve of the sweater. "I thought I saw Kara." She said.
"Oh..." Sans trailed. He looked down to the rushing water that carried the rocks down below. "Maybe you did see her." He said, trying to cheer her up.
"Maybe..." She said, lifting her head up slightly.
Silence fell between the two, leaving only the sound of rushing water in the cavern. She didn't say anything, and Sans was scared that any sentence he would say would make her cry. He didn't want her to cry. After a second, (Y/N) Let out a faint laugh catching the skeletons attention.
"The water reminds me of when Kara and I were little... When we were really young, we lived in a small small forest, and it has a large brook... Well, to two five year olds, it was large." She said, looking over to Sans with a smile. He gave her a weak chuckle as she turned back to the water. "We used to play in the water, and since it reached up to our waists, we could hold onto each other and practice swimming. She was an amazing swimmer, I didn't get it at first. But I eventually did, with a help. " She said, crossing her arms over her knees and placing her chin on them.
Sans smile lifted very slightly. "You know, I tried to teach myself to swim once."
"Oh? How well did that go?" She asked with curiosity.
"Not that well... I learnt quickly that bones aren't that buoyant." He said.
(Y/N) let out a small chuckle. " I can't imagine why." She smiled slightly.
Sans returned the chuckle as his face started to glow. Wonder why...
"Yeah, and then I had the bright idea to try it again. It really left me with a sinking feeling afterwards." He said. The (H/C) twin let out q stronger giggle at his pun. "Well, I'm not gonna lie; it sounds good to hear you laugh again kid. Come on, Papyrus is probably wondering what's taking us so long." Sans said, standing up.
"Yeah, you might be right...."
As she stood up, as her foot got stuck slightly in the gaps of the boards, making her unbalanced. She tried to gain her balance by grabbing onto the closest object- which happened to be Sans-, but instead, it sent both her and said object into the water. After plunging into the water, both of them stood up in the waist heigh water, and looked at each other. They were out of the way of the rocks, so they didn't have to worry about that. After their eyes met for a second, and both of them began to laugh.
"Geez, kid. If I stink that badly, you could have just said something, not giving me a bath." Sans grinned, lightly splashing her with water.
"Sorry, I couldn't take it anymore."
(Y/N) sarcastically said, splashing him back. Sans playfully raised an eyebrow and then shook his head. "Alright, come on, now we really gotta get you to the shop for a new change of clothes. Do t need you coming down with something, now, do we?" He said, taking her hand. "Close your eyes, I know a shortcut." He winked.
(Y/N) looked around at the water, and silently said goodbye to the reminder of her memory. She then closed her eyes and faced forward. She tightened her grip on the skeleton and in a blink of an eye, they were gone.
. . .
On the other side of the waterfall, hiding behind a rock, was (Y/N)'s lost twin... She was staring at the place her sister and comedian were once at. When she was sure both of them were gone, she appeared from behind her hiding spot and continued to stare. She was no longer wearing her sweater, only a black shirt which was along with her white leggings and black shoes. She looked up to the waterfall and the. The area of water in front of her. She felt a warm feeling in her chest at the sight, and a giant memory of her past flashed in her head.
For first time in years...
She felt something warm on her cheek. She raised her hand to her face as she felt a tear rolling down.
