My Hero: Superman
By Harry Tomlinson
My hero is Superman. No. Not the Superman everyone else knows of, but my superman. Louis. My big brother. He is my hero because he understands me and loves me no matter what.
There are times when I feel hopeless and low. I don't know what to do or who to go to. Then, I remember that I have my superman. He makes me feel better with his dumb jokes and he cuddles me. That might sound wierd, but Louis is the best cuddler in the world.
Another thing about Louis, is that he accepts who I am. He accepts every part of me (even my bad parts). His love for me is unconditional. No one else accepts me like that. Not my friends or my teachers. Only Louis.
And that is why Louis is my hero. He may be crazy or super embarassing, but I wouldn't trade him for the world. Or even a giant purple bear. He is the best brother ever.
I smile down at Harry's nice handwriting.
"That's sweet," I say looking back at Zayn.
I'm Harry's hero? I don't think I've ever been anybody's hero. Well, some One Direction fans have told me that, but they wouldn't even think that if I wasn't a "celebrity". However, to Harry, I'm just... Louis. Not a singer or a boyband member. To Harry, I'm only Louis. His hero.
"You have a talented young man," Zayn says as I hand him the paper back.
"I know."
Zayn laughs. I study his face. There is stubble on his chin and crinkles by his eyes. His hair lies in his face instead of in a quiff and there aren't any highlights. But when he takes off his fancy coat and rolls up his sleeves in the humid classroom, I see his tatoos. The bell rings throughout the school for the parents to move on to the next class. I don't move a muscle, though. I feel Harry at my side. He grabs my arm.
"It was a pleasure meeting you, Mr. Tomlinson," Zayn says politely.
"It was nice meeting you, too. And please, just call me Louis."
We shake hands again and nod before I walk out of the class sadly.
"How come we have to lose people we love?" I ask as we slowly walk to his next class.
"You'll never lose me,"Harry whispers. "You'll always have me."
I smile down at Harry, whose eyes are wandering the hall.
"I sure will," I say hugging him to my side. "I sure will."

Alternate Universe
When I walk into the livingroom after work and hang up my work jacket, I hear the radio like always, but no singing.
"Harry? Niall?" I yell up the stairs.
No response.
"Anyone home?"
I walk into the dining room and see glass shattered all over the floor.
"Hey! Why is this-?"
Then, I see. The glass back door is broken. I hurridly open the door and go outside. That's when I see Niall on his cell phone. He looks sad and worried. He is looking all around with his hand on his neck.
"Please. Just hurry," Niall cries into the phone as I near him.
Niall stuffs his phone in his pocket and wipes his eyes. He grabs my shoulders.
"Louis... Harry... I'm sorry..." He says between sobs.
"What happened Niall?" I ask shaking him impatiently.
Niall's body shakes with fear.
"A guy in a mask... broke in..."
"What happened to Harry? Tell me! Did he hurt him?"
My insides twist and I start to shake in fear like Niall.
"Niall! Answer me!" I yell.
Niall looks up with blood shot eyes. Tears stream down his face. He gulps.
"Harry got taken."
I let go of Niall and turn away not knowing what to do next.
"What did the guy's car look like?" I ask quickly.
"I don't know. He was running too fast and I don't know which way he went or if he was even driving a car... Oh my God, Louis! I'm sorry I let that happen! I'm so, so, sorry!"
"It's not your fault! Now shut up!"
I didn't mean to be so harsh... but I lost my little angel. I don't care if I'm nice right now.
"You don't know which way he went?" I ask.
"No..."
"I've got to go look for him," I say running across the yard.
"The police are coming, though!" Niall yells after me.
"Don't care! I'm going to find him!"
I jump over the fence and run down the sidewalk. I run and run, yelling Harry's name over and over again. Where is my little boy? (Well actually teenage boy. He just turned thirteen a few months ago.) What if he is gone for fifteen years like some kids that are kidnapped? Or the police find him dead? I can't let that happen. I must find him. I need to. I come to a stop to catch my breath and lean over.
Then, I pull out my phone. Harry probably has his cell phone! I mean, he always does! I press on his name, praying that he has it.
"Louis," I hear a whisper on the other side of the phone.
"Harry! Harry! Where are you?" I cry.
"I don't know, Lou-Lou... Come and get me. Please," Harry cries.
I start running back to my house.
"I can't if I don't know where you are. What does it look like around you?"
Harry sniffles and breathes heavily.
"Can't tell. It's too dark. I'm scared, Boo," Harry whispers.
My head is spinning. Tears flood my face.
"I'm going to try and find you. Okay? Don't worry," I say.
I run up to my house where the police are already at.
"I'm going to give the phone to a police man, alright?" I say. "They're going to help you."
"Alright. I love you, Louis," Harry says with his voice shaky.
"I love you, too," I reply quietly, crying more than ever. "Everything will be alright."
I hand a police man the phone as I enter the backyard where they all are.
"It's Harry," I say as I give him the phone.
Niall, who is standing nearby, looks at me with wide eyes.
"Where is he?" He asks coming toward me.
"He... He doesn't know. He said it was too dark to see."
Niall puts his arms around my crying body.
"It will be alright, Lou. We'll get the kid back."
"You really think so?" I ask childishly.
I sound so small and weak. Maybe it is true. I do lose a lot of people that I love. Almost everyone of them. I didn't think it'd suck this much. Especially since I lost the one I love the most. At least I have Niall (for now anyways).
"Of course," Niall assures me rubbing my back comfortingly. "Oh, don't cry, Louis. It will be okay."
Niall begins to cry harder along with me.
"I hate it when you cry, damn it," Niall curses.
I shake my head and brush my fringe from my forehead. I turn back to the police and try to listen to what they are saying, but I am too distracted. Harry. Where is Harry? How did this happen? I go to work and come home and he's just gone. Gone? The police suddenly leave to go and search for him and Niall follows. I am just about to go also, but Niall stops me.
"No. You stay here in case he finds his way back," Niall says.
I frown, but agree anyway. I watch as the police cars drive and dissapear down the road. I walk inside my house and sit on the couch, staring at the door. It feels too familiar. It felt like the terrible day when Harry spent the day with Taylor Swift at the zoo on the other world and I waited forever for him to come home to me. But when he did, it was only for a minute. I was feeling so sad and low then, that I felt like I was stuck in a ditch. Deeper than a ditch. That's how I feel now... only way deeper.
