Chapter 68

Trembling practically shakes the van. We tremble as we near the mall. Thoughts go throughout my head like, "What if there aren't much people there?" and "What if this doesn't work out?" Luckily, the other boys are coming with us. We need their support more than anything. I drive us slowly to the mall, Harry next to me in the passenger seat. We snuck past security. We used the back exit of the hotel where no fans were and I might've stolen Paul's key to the van...

"Holy wow!" Niall yells, pointing out the right window.

And I see it. All of the people. Hundreds. Thousands maybe. All here for... Us. Harry and me. Me and Harry. Our love. Our freedom.

"All of these fans are here for... Larry?" whispers Harry as I park on the side of the road, hidden behind some trees.

He stares out the window in awe. I take his clammy and shaky hand in mine.

"They sure are."

He turns to me and gives my hand a squeeze. Zayn leans forward from the back seat and puts his hands on our shoulders.

"Ready?" he asks.

I smile at Zayn and nod quickly. He grins back and gives my shoulder a gentle rub before we turn our heads to Harry. A frown is on his face along with nervous and watery eyes. His forehead creases as he stares at his hands.

"Harry. Babe..." I whisper.

Zayn takes his hand off of our shoulders. Slowly, I lean over, nuzzling my nose into his hair. His soft, curly, hair tickles my skin. I can almost feel his nerves. I don't know what is so afraid of. Tonight, we get our freedom. We won't have to hide anymore. What could go wrong?

"We'll leave you two alone..." Liam says from the back seat.

He opens the door, taking his labtop with him. Zayn follows him out. Niall goes out the other side giving me a small, encouraging, smile. Once we are left alone in the black van, that's when Harry latches himself to my side, hugging me tight.

"I was too embarassed to do that in front of them," says Harry.

I run my fingers through his tangled hair softly.

"Harry. We'll be alright... Okay?"

"How can you be so sure?" Harry asks, rubbing his fingers into my side.

I kiss his forehead before whispering,"Because we're strong... If tonight somehow doesn't work out, we will fight."

He shakes his head, dissagreeing with me about something.

"What?" I question him as we release from our hug.

"I'm not strong enough. I thought I was, but I was wrong. You have more faith. More strength."

I take his hand once again, trying to think of the right thing to say. Sometimes, finding the right words is difficult. But they always come right to me.

"Then, I'll fight for both of us."

"I'm glad you're strong enough for that."

I shrug, absent mindedly brushing his hair from his eyes. Honestly, I don't know if I am strong enough. Even if I'm not, I can act like I am. Luckily, I'm a good actor.

"Are you going to be okay?" I ask him.

Into my eyes, he stares into them intently. I can feel what he is thinking. Sounds crazy? I know. It's hard to explain, though. As he stares into my eyes, I get a sensation. He is nervous about everything, but he trusts me. I better not screw this up. While on the alternate universe, I screwed lots of things up. I lost him once.
