Chapter 81
Step by step I walk steadily and slowly down the narrow aisle toward the priest. My mum holds my arm and my dad walks on my other side. Both of their eyes are full of joy and light. They seem so proud... Even my dad. He finally accepted me for who I am. Sometimes he still hints that he wishes I was with Eleanor. However, he can tell that I'm happy with Hazza. On one side of the aisle in the seats I see my step mum and step dad smiling at us. I can also see my friends and family among the crowd, so joyful and sincerely proud.
I can see it in their eyes. Once we make it to the end of the aisle, I kiss my mum's cheek before she takes a seat. I turn to my dad and I hold out my hand hesitantly for a hand shake. Instead, he pulls me into a hug whispering to me, "I'm proud of you, Louis."
I smile and blink back tears.
"I love you, dad."
"I love you, too, son."
We release from the hug and I walk to stand next to the priest, grinning while looking down the aisle. The music familiar to everyone begins to play in the back of the church. One Direction's band plays the music. Zayn's lovely wife, Perrie, and her very own bandmates sing the song "Same Love" by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis featuring Mary.
As the music begins, my childhood friend (and best man), Stan, walks down the aisle with Gemma hanging onto his arms. It was difficult trying to choose a best man with three other best friends who are like brothers to us, but it wouldn't be fair to the other two if I chose one. So, in conclusion, I chose Stan. When I told him that I was with Harry for the first time, he was surprised, but he still loves me. He's always been like that. No matter what, he'll always love me. Gemma looks at me with tears in her eyes, so overjoyed that her little brother is getting married. She blows a kiss at me with a wide smile on her face. Stan mocks her, blowing a kiss at me as well. The whole church full with quiet laughter.
They both part, Stan on one side of me and Gemma on the other. I shift my eyes back to the doors where Zayn and Lottie enter next. Lottie looks beautiful. She's really grown in to such a gorgeous, young lady. She is a wonderful sister who has always supported me and my sexuality. I look at Zayn next. He has matured a lot over the years. He has a wife, children, and is satisfied and happy with it all. Zayn nods at me with a slight smile. I return a smile, nodding at him also.
They part next and down the aisle walks Liam with my second sister, Fizzy. Liam has a huge twinkling grin stretched from ear to ear. Things have been difficult between Liam and Niall. They got in a fight over something and haven't talked in such a long time. This is the first time I've seen Liam smile in a while. I hope everything turns out okay between them. Although, even through all of this, I can tell that Niall is still in love with Liam. I'm not sure what is going on in Liam's mind. He's all mysterious all of a sudden. That's Zayn's job, though.
Liam needs to stop with the mysterious crap soon. It's too weird. They part and go on each side of me like the others. Next down the aisle comes Niall and my step sister, Georgia. I never got to know Georgia too well through the years, but she is still my step sister and she means a lot to me. Niall has a cheeky smile and tries not to look at Liam. That might be difficult however considering that he has to stand by Liam once they get to the end of the aisle. I smile back at them fondly. Niall acts like a child even today. He doesn't look like a child anymore, though.
Facial hair, a buff body, and broad shoulders. He's starting to look more and more like AU Niall did when he got older. It's crazy how much a couple years can make a difference. He's a big kid. Always will be. He'll be, like, 80 years old and playing Candyland with the neighborhood kids. As Georgia and Niall near the end of the aisle, Niall runs up to me and hugs me quickly before walking to his spot next to Liam like nothing happened. I chuckle and shake my head. Next down the aisle are our three flower girls. Yeah, three. Who says we can't have three?
