Pushing through the heavy wooden gates I entered Whiterun, a small city but armed with Guards all the same. Walking through this town felt... Silent. Too silent, guards were armed at their posts, everyday people working or walking through town, even the children weren't outside, playing as they usually do. This was probably because of the murders been happening recently. Before anything else I came here for, I needed to sell some items first, I had 2 Dragon bones, collected from one of my previous battles with a troublesome Blood Dragon, who had been terrorizing a local farm just outside these gates not too long ago. As well as some various gems I had found while exploring a cave with a group of bandits. I decided that Belethor's General Goods store was a great place to start, as he usually had many wares to sell, and to buy.
After selling my items I had made 500 gold from the 2 Dragon bones alone, the rest of my gems I sold for a little over 369 gold, from a few rubies and sapphires. This money would last me all week, after most of my adventures I had an amount over 16,000, so i don't think I would be running out anytime soon. Next I headed to the Drunken Huntsman, a tavern and hunting supply store, where, hopefully, I could buy some more Arrows for my Ebony Bow. After talking to the owner, a High Elf named Elrindir, I did manage to find that he had an almost endless amount of Ebony Arrows, each would cost me 7 gold each, so I bought all he had, 500. It cost me a lot of gold, but with such a rare find of this bow I wasn't taking any chances.
Leaving the tavern I headed up to Dragonsreach, where the Jarl of Whiterun was at, and it was where I would find his mage, Farengar Secret-Fire. As I headed up to the building, past the stalls and houses, and past the annoying preacher of Talos at the Shrine just outside Jorrvaskr, the home of the Companions, I finally reached my destination. The towering building of Dragonsreach, where I was hoping to find some answers. I then walked inside.
Inside, the building was even bigger than it appeared on the outside, with a roof stretching so far it was amazing how anyone could have gotten up there without a strong support. An Elk's head was mounted above the pointed shaped doorway. Looking forward, yellow flags bearing Whiterun's symbol, a horse, were hung below the beams leading to the second floor. Wooden pillars supported the second floor, as they reached out almost so they were touching the entrance, stopping just before the first step. Walking forward and up the stairs I came within touching distance of a big fire centered in the middle of the room, in front of the Jarl's throne. Above of which had a Dragons head mounted, and this was how the castle had been named, as it had been designed and used to capture Dragons in the past.
Walking to the right and past the huge dining table I entered the mage's room, complete with Potions, Scrolls, different ranges of Soul Gems, an Alchemy and Enchanting Table, as well as various maps of Dragon burial sites. Approaching Farengar Secret-Fire, who was standing over one of his maps, and wanting to catch his attention, being that as he was, fascinated with his work, I approached and placed my paws on the table, and dragged my claws down the wood, not enough so i would mark it, but just enough to have an effect on his hearing.
"Oww" Farengar shouted, reaching with his hands to put them around his ears, searching for what caused the noise, he looked up, his face becoming firm once more, and removed his hands from his head.
"J'zargo, a nice surprise, as always" He said calmly.
"Oh come now Farengar, I'm not here for introductions, we have met before, I want to get straight to my point and the reason why I came here"
I reached behind my back to unhook my special Ebony Bow, and laid it out on the table.
"I came here to see if you would be able to tell me about this Bow that I found down at Riverwood, it emits a faint red glow and I was wondering if you are able to tell me what enchantment has been bestowed upon it, and what it does"
Farengar picked up the Bow, and examined it, the curve, smithing work, the string, even drawing it back to see how strong it was. Holding it up within arm distance he cast a spell on the Bow, which didn't do anything, but it surely made Farengar's eyes light up with excitement. When he was finished he rushed back to one of his rooms, of where I could hear him searching through mountains of books, after a short time he came back, with a book called "Catalogue of Weapon Enchantments". Flicking through it he finally came to a conclusion.
"This weapon? Where did you find it again?"
"In Riverwood, the Sleeping Giant Inn, it was in one of the rooms that I had rented for the night"
"Ahh, well, this Bow has an Enchantment that allows you to, when fired, absorb the victims health and it will add to your own, and the Enchantment is very powerful, taking a great amount of health away and adding onto yours every second. As for the other information... It is not that good"
"Why, is there something wrong?"
"Well... This Bow, is very unique indeed, in fact it belongs to someone named Lord Harkon, who resides up at a Castle named Volkihar Keep off the coast of Haafinger"
"So? I don't see that as much of a problem?" But the look on Farengar's face told me otherwise. "Is there something your not telling me?"
Farengar looked down at his desk, playing with a ball of fire in his hands, slowly looking up he said
"Lord Harkon is a very powerful person, or should I say, a very powerful... Vampire Lord...
