As we reached the gates of Whiterun I headed for my home in the city. Breezehome. The house wasn't too small and not too big, it sat near the main gates and blended in with the rest of the settlements surrounding it. I had bought this home many years ago, when I didn't have any money or made a name for myself, or had my fearsome reputation that I do today. At the time that I had bought the house, I had thought of saving up to buy a home in Solitude, one of the most well guarded cities in Skyrim, and the one that had the biggest home. But as my life progressed I knew that I would need to... Lay low for a long time.
Opening the wooden door I entered Breezehome, and was greeted by a rush of cold air, as the fire in front of me had died whilst I was on my travels. Walking in I allowed Namasur to shut the door behind me while I lit the fire with my magic. Soon after the wood started to burn and a roaring fire was created, flaring heat into the room.
"Very cozy place you have here" Namasur said to me, observing the room around us.
"Thank you, but please, if you are wondering why someone like me decided to live in a small, un-noticeable home in a not too well guarded city, it is because of the people I have links to, and who I work for, or, did work for"
It was Namasur's turn for his face to be filled with questions.
"Who could you have possibly worked for that would send people after you?" Namasur asked, a hint of curiosity on his tongue.
"Let's just say a handful of Assassins and Thieves" I concluded shortly as I headed up the stairs to my room, only to continue as I reached my destination.
"When I didn't have much gold, I set about finding some work to pay for a house and making a decent living. First it was chopping wood at Riverwood for a bit of gold, but it soon became tiresome and it wasn't a decent pay. Next was hunting for meat, hide and pelts to make into armor and then to sell to local Blacksmith's, it paid much better and I was able to eat and rent rooms. Exploring Skyrim for gems and gold, ancient artifacts and lost treasures was my other option after I had made a bit of gold to buy myself some decent weapons and armor, which is the Leather Armour and Ebony Dagger you can see on me now. In my travels I did come across treasure that no one has ever seen, but were worth a great price. So for a few thousand gold each I sold them, only later to steal them back"
As I paused I reached into my chest and retrieved my other Armour. Gathering them up I placed them on the bed so Namasur could see the entire outfit.
"This, is my Nightingale Armour. It was given to me by a member of the Thieves Guild for completing a certain task, and earning Nocturnal's favour"
Finishing once again I picked up the Armour and started to change out of my Leather and into the dark material. The Nightingale Boots were a deep black, fastened with straps of black leather and hardened plates were inside the boots, providing protection from arrows or swords. Next was the main Armour. It was the same colour as the boots, decorated with layered plates of protection, working their way up from the bottom to the top and shoulders in a symmetrical pattern, finishing mid-length down the arm's to provide free movement. The rest of the arms were made with wrapped leather.
The centre and chest piece of the armor had the Nightingale symbol on it, it was a circle with a pattern of a bird inside, it's wings stretching towards a sphere. I had never been told or had read about what it meant, but I knew that Nocturnal was Mistress of Shadow and Darkness, and was very fond of crows. So it wasn't hard to work out that the bird was a crow, the sphere was the sun, and the crows wings were reaching towards the sky to block out the ball of fire and shroud the world in darkness. Lastly the gloves were like the rest, black in colour, with the same plated protection pattern like the boots and Armour. The knuckle's had hardened plates inside and were in the shape of a diamond, preventing anyone from winning a fist fight with you. Each piece of Armour had it's own enchantment on it, raising it's worth in any market.
"Very impressive" Namasur congrats me, smiling.
I smile back, "That's not all" I say to him. Reaching under my bed I pull out a sword and a bow, complete with a sheath and it's own set of Ebony Arrows. The blade matched with the outfit. It had a black heist with 3 decorative crow feathers to complete the ending of the sword. Continuing up it had black layered rings, finishing off at the beginning of the weapon with the Nightingale symbol. The blade itself was just plain steel, but it was very powerful, as it had an enchantment, just like each piece of the Armour did. The bow was next to be studied. It was a dark grey, with silver metal coursing through and along the entire bow in weaves, symmetrical too. This also had an enchantment, making it's shot as cold as the grave and as fierce as a storm. I also took two Ebony Daggers, and placed them in my sheath.
"I like this, I like this very much" Namasur commented again, smiling even more. "You are very powerful, I can see that J'zargo clearly"
"Thank you, I take pride in my collection and gift of skills"
With those words I picked up my bow and sword, placing the sword in the sheath at my side and the Ebony Arrows and bow behind my back, walking forward so I was stood in the doorway, turning to you I then gripped my Nightingale Hood and placed it over my head, and raised the face mask to cover my mouth and nose, so only my blood red eyes shined out from the shadows. Then I said in a deep tone
"So, take me to this Castle beyond in the ocean, lost in the wind and clouds of the weather and forgotten in everyone's mind"
And with those final words I turned around, and headed for the door, Namasur following closely behind.
