Blinding Light

I woke up to the sun's fire burning through the window. The light was cast at my side of the room, reflecting off the walls and the covers. Lifting the sheets off my head the sun caught my face and eyes unexpectedly. Hissing and shrinking back into the corner of the room I raised the covers up again to my face, as if they would act as a shield to protect me. From across the room Namasur stirred in his sleep, only for him to wake up and turn over a few seconds later. His eyes fell on me.

"J'zargo, are you alright?" He asked, pulling the covers back and getting up, his face filled with concern.

Lowering the covers I opened my eyes, but I struggled to focus on him. All I could see was a blinding white light that seemed to fill the entire room, rays of sunlight that cast little shadow danced on the floor.

"I can't see, can't... It hurts my eyes" I stumbled, closing my eyes and pulling the sheets over my head again. "Block out the light" I hissed from under the blanket.

I heard Namasur get up and using his sheets, he held them up to the window, tucking in the corners into the narrow slits from under the wooden frame. After all the light had vanished, I pulled the cover off me, staying in the corner and waiting for my eyes to adjust. As the darkness crept in and the last of the light had gone, I got up and sat on the edge of the bed. My eyes scanned the room, and focusing on my surroundings, everything seemed to be so... Detailed and sharp. I could see the individual splints of wood on the building walls and floor. The glass jug that sat in the corner, the once smooth glass now looked jagged and ill-sculptured. I glanced at Namasur, who studied my eyes carefully.

"What's happening to me?" I asked him, getting up and walking to the far corner of the room, taking a drink as I did so.

"The Vamperic blood that is in your body and veins are slowly taking over, within a day you will become a Vampire, and we need to get you to the castle when that happens, to ensure that the Pure Blood within you is released"

I nod and put the glass down where I got it from.

"So I suggest we get going then?" I replied, walking over to my bedside and equipping myself with my weapons. Namasur also got his as I headed out the door. Stepping out into the sun filled world, I hissed and raised my black hood over my head, covering my eyes from the bright sunlight.

"You sure that your going to be ok until we reach the Castle?" Namasur asks, walking down the wooden steps beside me.

"I'm sure, besides, the sun will be behind us until midday, then the sunset will fall before us when we reach the Castle, if my judgment is correct" I reply as I called for Shadowmere, who came galloping around the corner of the inn, shaking his black mane in the fresh air. Shadow trotted behind him, his young eyes looking up at Namasur as he kicked the floor with his hoof. Jumping onto Shadow, and I onto Shadowmere, he turned and said to me

"Yes, that's why we must reach the Castle before tomorrow, because your Vamperic powers will awaken soon, and dusk would be the best time to turn you, close to midnight" He says, before turning around and heading for the Castle, of where I would soon be able to awaken my inner self, and posses even more power and abilities than I had already...

Heading from Dragon Bridge, we headed down the left road, passing the shrine of Meridia and passed Fort Hraggstad, heading down to the shores behind the main land of Solitude. The harsh terrain and weather made it even trickier, as the steep slops of Skyrim's mountains meant that we had to constantly turn and find our way through the wilderness. After many hours, we finally reached level ground, murky with mud and surrounded by the chilling cold waters of the sea.

"How much further!?" I yelled to Namasur, trying to let my voice by heard over the spray of waves along the coast line and the whistling winds.

"Not long now, look over there!" He shouted back, holding out his hand in the direction of a small fort just ahead.

Looking before me, I could see a group of people stood by the fort walls, holding bows and swords, I think I could see a mage too. As we came in closer, I could see them in full detail.

"Thalmor..." I spat, grinding my teeth together. I despised them, coming to Skyrim and invading the land of the Nords, using the Imperial Army for their own needs, even going as far to spy on those that threatened them, even killing those that they couldn't get information out of...

Namasur looked at me and winked. "How about we show them the true meaning of fear?" He said, grinning as he got off Shadow and led him to the mountain walls, I followed and stood by his side.

"So then Namasur, before you head on up, I'd like to take care of something first if I may?" I say to him, un-equipping my bow off my back and readying it with an Ebony Arrow.

"Yes, yes you may" Namasur replies, before casting a spell to render himself invisible as he watched from the darkness.

Grinning I aim my bow at the Thalmor Mage, he must be taken out first, or his spells could be used to difficult lengths for us. Taking a deep breath I take my aim of bow at his head, a silent kill. Looking around all the other Thalmor guards were looking outwards to the sea. Then I let go. The arrow flew through the air, a deadly shot as it pierces through his eye and back out of his skull, sending blood to drip down his face and parts of his flesh and brains to be splattered over the wall behind him. For a moment he stood still, then toppled over the edge of the walls. I was expecting him to land on the hard ground, until his body hovered in mid-air before Namasur appeared, holding his body.

Namasur grins and gives me a thumbs up as he lays the body gently down in the snow. I give a sign to him before making my way over to his side, sneaking whilst trying to avoid the stares of the guards. When I am beside him I place my bow back on my back, before taking out my Ebony Dagger and holding it down across my chest.

"Ready?" I ask

"Ready"
