After I had done looking at the body I took my leave of the Priest, who I would have injured soon if he continued preaching about the gods of Skyrim and the all-mighty Arkay. I was not a religious person, but I felt closely connected with the Daedric Gods, who were considered evil, and a blight upon any holy land. Worshipping and offering deals, many with a life in the balance, were forbidden within city walls, so that people had to travel many miles to strike deals with the Daedric Lord's and Mistresses. There are a few Daedric Lord's and Mistresses that I worship, and have gained their favour by doing, let's just say, a few bloody tasks.
By the time I had left the Hall Of The Dead it was almost nightfall again. Looking up at the sky I could tell it was going to be a rather stormy night, as huge grey and black clouds rolled across the sky, and the last of the light had almost vanished under the light rain that now began to fall. I decided that it was time to head for the Bannered Mare, another inn located in the market place of the city. Heading through the city and passing the stalls and stores I reached the inn, upon entering I was greeted by the cheer of Nords and the sound of music. Ignoring the rabble of drunken Nords and other races I headed for the bar, where I was greeted by the Innkeeper, Hulda.
"Ahh, J'zargo, how may I help you? We have warm beds, food and drink, we also have a room for rent for just 10 gold for the night if you wish to take some rest, could I..."
Hulda trailed off, and as I studied her face and her eyes they moved down to look at my armor, near my wrist. Wondering what she was looking at I averted my eyes and looked too, then I realized what it was. I had blood on my leather bracer, not doing anything to cover up the stain I just looked at her with my deep, red eyes, perhaps looking menacing, as my ears were stood up straight and my eyes darted.
Hulda, looking up at me said "I think it's best if i do not ask where that blood came from"
"That would be best" I answered back. Knowing all too well that the blood came from a Nord that I had killed a couple of days earlier, nothing much, he just wouldn't keep quiet about hiring a group of bandits to kill Argonians and Khajiit's, so I killed him before anything could be done to my fellow race and friends. Turning back to Hulda I asked about renting a bed for the night, pausing before answering she replied
"Yes, ok, 20 gold please, head up the stairs and you'll find yourself a bed, you can have it for the morning. Then please leave"
"Why 20 gold? Isn't it 10?" I asked, confused.
"I know where the blood came from, do you think that I do not know you by now? Pay 20 gold and I can assure that the guards do not hear about this matter"
Hissing I payed the Innkeeper, and as I left I sneaked an apple while i was at it. Biting into it as i sat upon my bed for the evening, the juice dripping down my chin, wetting my fur. When I had finished my snack I lay on the bed for an hour or so, listening to the songs that the bard was singing down below. Tale Of The Tongues, Age Of Oppression, and many more. For some reason I couldn't sleep, so I went downstairs and bought myself a bottle of Argonian Bloodwine and some Spiced Wine, which was rare to buy over here, as it was made and sold in Solitude. After a couple of drinks I felt ready to fall asleep now, walking up the stairs towards my bed I set about taking off my armor, when I noticed a note upon the bed. 'That wasn't here before' I thought to myself. Picking up the note I started to read it.
Greetings J'zargo,
It is at my deepest apology I could not talk to you in person, but the night is young and there is so much to do. I have been watching you for the past couple of days and I would ask that you meet me at the halted stream camp outside Whiterun, come at dusk or late evening if possible. I wish to talk to you away from prying eyes and ears where we can discuss something important.
Safe journey, looking forward to meeting you,
Sincerely Namasur.
Wondering who it was that had sent this mysterious note, I looked forward to seeing him later tomorrow. Near the time of falling asleep I stuffed the note into my Satchel, removed my armor, and then got into the bed, falling asleep rather quickly.
