As I drank from the females neck, and her hot blood cascaded down my throat, my body felt something that I hadn't been able to feel in a long time. Warmth. Not only that, but what I was able to detect before was a faint representation of a mortal's heart as it slowed, but as a Vampire Lord, I was able to see through a faint beat how fast her heart was slowing, and how long it would be before I managed to kill her.
After I had finished feeding, I released my vice like grip, before licking her wound, and let her sink to the floor. Looking closer, I found that my saliva was now able to heal bite wounds. Feeling satisfied, I dropped back to the ground and transformed back into my normal self. Well, if you could call having sabre-tooth fangs and piercing red eyes normal. Perhaps it was to some.
Walking back out of the cage, I smiled at the fact that the castle didn't need any locks for these cages. The mortals were mumbling and moaning, walking around as if in a trance, they couldn't leave even if they wanted to. As I walked back out of the room and up the stairs, I felt a new sensation within me, I felt stronger, more powerful. My eyesight increased even more, my hearing became even more sensitive, my claws felt as tough as that of a Dragon's scales. I grinned as I looked around, others of my kind giving off a vague shimmer as I did, even through the walls I could sense them.
"I'm enjoying this" I said to myself, flicking my tail. "I'm enjoy this very much" I said, exiting through the doors where I had entered the feeding grounds, and returned to the main part of the Castle, my cape from my Nightingale armour flowing behind me.
"There you are" I heard a voice say from beside me. Turning to face the sound I saw it was Serana.
I was about to reply, when her face seemed to be filled with worry, her eyes were worried, her expression was worried, her words wavered as she spoke.
"We need you, Harkon wants you to test yourself now, hurry to the Castle gates where we came in, Harkon and others will be waiting for you there" She said, hurrying past me.
'What was that about?' I thought to myself, but did as I was asked anyway.
Walking past the long dining tables, I walked back up the stone stairway, past the gargoyle statue and back outside, closing the door behind me. My eyes met the orange coloured sky, streaked with white clouds that seemed to weave between the pink and orange colour of the early morning sun. Time had flown by, as midnight had quickly passed to dawn in my short time in the castle. A crowd of other vampires stood before me, when they heard me exit the castle, all eyes turned towards me.
"Harkon is waiting for you" One of them said to me, gesturing forward and making a path down towards where Harkon was standing. I nodded and followed, met by Harkons gaze as I exited the crowd.
"J'zargo" He spoke, his words kind but his face was not. "Do not be alarmed and do not act unless I tell you to, put up your hood and hide your face" He said, "Quickly!"
I did as I was ordered, placing my Nightingale Hood over my feline ears and hiding my face, so only my fiery eyes could be seen from beneath the shadow of my hood. As I did that, Harkon turned around, and I was met with a foreboding sight.
Before us, stood an army, though it was quite small, their forces seemed to emit a strong scent. This army, that I had yet to be seen in this land, stood at the Castle docks. Men and women, armed with swords, crossbows, daggers, axes and hammers, stood at the ready. The armour was unique, unheard of and seemed to be crafted to it's peak ability.
The creatures that stood beside them was what amazed me the most, it seemed to be unreal. Trolls, trolls that were mounted with tough looking armour, along with vicious blades that had been molded to the armours arms, causing terrible damage to any flesh or bone it would strike. I could see three in total, stood behind the person at the front, who I presumed was the leader. Dogs also surround them, five dogs with leather armour strapped to them, all held on leashes until they were to be set free, on us.
Looking around at our castle, I could spot Archers positioned at parts of the Castle, aimed at the opposing side, ready to fire if any wrong move were to be given.
Looking back down, I saw that the leader of this small army took a few steps forward, his skin dark, face hardened and eyes narrowed at us, wearing the same armour.
"Harkon!" He called, his tone dripping with venom. "Your kind has no place in Skyrim, you feed off the weak and defenceless, and turn our noble and respected citizens into nothing but monsters for your own selfish needs!" He shouted, making Harkons face split into a smile as he listened with close attention.
"Your castle will crumble and fall, just like you've laid waste to countless villagers and cities throughout Skyrim over the many years you have been in this realm, but no more! Today, today we will dwell your numbers, and hope to put a thorn in your quest to turn our world to darkness! For we are, The Dawnguard!" The leader said, finishing his speech.
Harkon smiled, then raised his hands, and started to applaud his bold speech. It was slow and sarcastic, almost mocked.
"Well well" Harkon began to say, stepping forward, still applauding. "What a mighty heroic speech, my old friend... Isran" He said, spitting his name. "I won't dwell on speeches, as speeches are for ignorant snobs that only try and better themselves and where they stand, but I'm afraid your efforts are wasted my friend, not only have you failed to learn from past mistakes, but you've also failed to notice that, not all of my kin are here" He said, smiling as his eyes flashed red.
Isran looked around, to find that, in the midst of his speech, he failed to train his eyes upon the castle walls. The Archers still remained in place, but not all was as it seemed. Slowly, they vanished, one by one, the figures ceased to exist, it was as if they weren't even there to begin with. And that's right, they never were...
Before Isran could react, a piercing screech came from all sides, the Archers loomed up over the dock walls, and fired their arrows into the Dogs that were still tied to the leashes, killing them instantly.
The battle begun. They drew out their swords and crossbows, and began to rally up on the Archers. Harkon grinned and allowed all of his kin stood around us to launch forward at the Trolls, sending spells and daggers flying into the beasts open skin, and within a few moments, they were dead too. The Archers had fled as soon as they fired, turning invisible and reappearing behind us.
When I next looked down at Isran, his face was a mask of pure shock, and the most noticeable of all, hate.
"Your nothing but a coward!" Isran shouted, standing up and facing Harkon. "Come down here for a real fight, all of my men and women against you, come and face me for what you are, a monster!" He yelled, fury rising in his voice.
Harkon grinned, and obliged. Turning to face me he winked.
"Show me what you are made of" He said, giving me a pat on the back. I nodded and grinned, making sure my Ebony Daggers were strapped to my sides, my Nightingale Sword was firmly attached, and that my Ebony Bow and arrows were placed firmly on my back.
Walking forward to face Isran, The Leader of The Dawnguard, I raised my head and smiled, showing off my fierce teeth and fangs. I uncurled my claws, my red eyes beaming down into his. And with a subtle yet menacing look on my face, I opened my mouth and said
"Hello, Isran, my name, is J'zargo"
