the ivy academy ; multiship

(a/n: ariel is a transboy because fuck me up and ryan's a transgirl because fuck me u p)

ariel bounced up and down excitedly while marina stayed silent on the drive to their new boarding school. it was called "ivy academy: the school for the peculiar and gifted." ariel and marina thought suspected that the last park was supposed to be a joke.

"i have no idea how you're excited for a boarding school," marina muttered to her friend. ariel shrugged.

"we get to share a dorm!" ariel exclaimed. "except we're sharing it with some other girl. i think her name is ryan."

"girls, settle down," ariel's mom said, rolling her at them from the rear-view mirror. ariel cringed at being called a girl.

"mom, im not-"

"shit, sorry," ariel's mom muttered. "im still not used to it." ariel's mom wasn't transphobic, she was far from it. but ariel had only come out around two weeks ago and she was still getting used to it. the rest of the car ride was silent.

when the two arrived, they said their goodbyes to ariel's mom and walked in. the place looked like it had been built in the 1800s. literally.

"this place looks sketchy," marina muttered as she and ariel walked into the school. the entrance was large with two stairways, a chandelier, and a red carpet over the wooden floor. it was dimly lit, and marina didn't like the vibe of the place.

the two followed the maps they'd been given to room 243, their dorm for the year. they walked in and set their luggage into the beds they wanted. ariel had called top bunk, and marina was happy to take the lower bunk. there was another bed next to theirs that was neatly made with pink sheets and a blue pillow.

"i guess ryan already got here," ariel observed. "she'll probably be back later."

the two unpacked and talked about anything and everything for a while.

after around a half hour or so, there was an announcement sent over the speakers in the school.

"all new students, please meet in the dining quarters. all new students to the dining quarters please."

ariel and marina sent each other a glance and quickly started toward the dining hall.

once the two arrived at the dining hall, they were met with several other students, and someone who appeared to be an adult.

"hello! and welcome to ivy academy," the adult said. "my name is ms. ledger. today we have something... important to go over." ariel gave marina a skeptical glance. marina shrugged. "you may think you're here for maths and english classes, the normal stuff."

now ariel was really confused. marina quirked an eyebrow.

"you're here because you are part of the peculiars. you have special abilities." ms. ledger glanced around at the students. "you will be met with by a teacher later on to find out more information. for now, you are allowed to roam the school and explore."
