Lexas pov:

The chancellor storms into the room, her eyes shooting straight to you as they had so many weeks ago when Marcus had first brought you into their camp. He truly had done everything in his power to stop them from hurting you, but one man against the many proved to be useless.

You rip your arm away from Clarke, Maybe she didn't notice, But oh boy, did she notice. Clarke leaps from your shoulder so fast you have to question whether she was ever there at all. Before she can get to far away you catch her wrists and she spins back around her eyes darting between you and the woman by the door.

" Clarke" You whisper. Please don't let them take me.

Your  unspoken plea hangs in the air for only a few seconds, but in those few seconds you search her eyes for anything to take hold of, anything to keep your head above the water in this one moment. Looking into your eyes she whispers,

" I won't let the touch you, i promise ".

" LET HER GO " The chancellor roars, beginning to drag Clarke away, The blonde snatches her hand back and steps infront of you, bloking your view of the older woman. Every bone in your body begs you to jump up from the bed and protect Clarke from harm but you can't move, you know that. So you stay seated feeling more useless than ever before.

" Stop '' The blonde shouts, stopping her mother in her tracks.

" Honey you're crying '' The woman speaks softly, ignoring her daughters outburst. " Did she hurt you? " She asks reaching out for her daughters face.

" She wouldn't have been able to even if she wanted to " Clarke murmurs, moving closer to the bed avoiding her mothers hand, trying to cover up the hint of anger that laces her every word, Abbie might not be able to hear it but you can, and you're glad your not on the other end of the exchange.

" If? Honey she's a grounder. They've been trying to wipe us out since we landed "

" That was different and don't try and say it wasn't ".

" Honey are you sure you sure you're okay? You're talking about the people who made you kill Finn, Who made you kill all those people in Mountweather ".

" Finn signed his death warrant when he pulled that trigger and the mountain men never would have stopped. ".

" What the hell has gotten into you? Why are you defending the grounders all of a sudden? She left you to die ".

" She did what was best for her people. She's the commander, that's what she has to do, just like i had to pull that lever to save mine ".

" Clarke, i know that you have your own way of dealing with what you've done, but place the blame where it belongs, on the grounders, on her " The older woman says turning to you and stalking forward only to be halted by Clarkes outstretched arm blocking her path.

" I thought there were no bad guys? ".

" Clarke you need to move, your obstructing the law ".

" What law? She's done Nothing wrong, your the ones in the wrong ".

" Clarke you haven't been here, you have no id-".

" What law did she break? " Clarke shouts her question again over her mothers ranting, after a moment of dead silence from her mother the blonde answers her own question " Because as i see it, you were torturing her because Bellamy lied. Bellamy is in the wrong not her, You are in the wrong, not Lexa. Kane tried to tell you but you wouldn't listen, now there's proof the grounders didn't have me and you still want to torture her. So tell me chancellor " she spits the word " What law did she break? ''.

" Clarke we will not have this conversation in front of a prisoner, you're making us look weak, she could go back and tell her peop- ".

" She. Is. Not. A. Prisoner " Clarke growls stepping dangerously close to her mother " And i will not let you lay another hand on her ".
