Chapter 19

Zoey's pov

"Oh my gosh!" Bryana chirps, as the two of us walk out of Dr. Shauna's office and back down the cold, white hallways, towards the waiting room, "I'm so excited for you!"

"Why?" I mutter.

"Because babies are so cute! What do you want? A boy or a girl?" She questions.

"I don't know," I reply. Yeah, I wasn't taking this whole thing too well.

"Just wait until the boys find out. They might be a little mad at first, but they'll get over it," Bryana assures me.

I stop in my tracks and turn to face her, "Bryana do not tell the boys. Do not mention this to the boys. Just say that the tests came back negative."

"But they didn't," she argues, a frown starting to form on her lips.

"No, they did. Just not all of them. What the boys don't know won't kill them," I say.

Bryana gives me a look, "Really Zoey? They're your brothers. You can trust them."

"I know that. And I do trust them. But I want to wait for the right moment to tell them," I defend, crossing my arms over my chest.

"How long do you plan on waiting? You're already two months. You're going to start showing next month," she argues.

"I know. That means I have a month," I reply. She gives me another look.

"What about Peyton? Are you at least going to tell him that you two are going to be parents?" Bryana asks.

I take a deep breath, "I'll tell him. I just need to think about how."

"You better. And you better tell your brothers too. Don't just let them find out by seeing a bump. Or have the media figure it out first," Bryana commands. I nod, tired of arguing. She bites the inside of her mouth, then starts walking towards the lobby again.

"Hey ladies," Ashton greets, standing up from his seat, "did you two find out what is wrong with Zoey?"

Bryana turns and looks at me with an eyebrow raised. I swallow hard and shake my head no. She gives me a disappointed look, then turns away. I stare at her back miserably.

Calum catches my eye and gives me a questioning look. I turn away, unable to look him in the eye.

"Let's go," Bryana says. Ashton and Calum follow her out if the doctor's office. I swallow hard, then put my earbuds in before jogging out to the car with them.
