Zoey's pov (a month later)

"But I don't want to," I whine, stomping my foot down.

"But you have to. You signed a contract," Ashton whines back, stomping his foot down to mock me. I glare, then flip him off.

"Michael!" I yell, turning my back to Ashton.

"What?" Michael yells from his room.

"Do I have to go the studio today?" I question.

"If you don't want to, then no, you don't have to go!" He answers.

"Thank you!" I turn to face Ashton again, "Ha ha. I don't have to go."

Ash rolls his eyes at me, "Yeah you do. Don't listen to Michael."

"But I like what Michael said better," I say, as Ashton picks me up and throws me over his shoulder. He ignores me and starts to carry me downstairs.

"Good to see you again, Zoey. Today, you'll be recording with Travis, who should be here any minute," Jenn says, smiling. I glare in return. Ashton shoots me a look.

As if on cue, two people walk in the studio. A man about forty five and a boy about seventeen, my age.

"Zoey, I'd like you to meet Travis Young. Travis, this is Zoey Irwin," the man says. I glance at his name tag and see 'Mr. Johns' written on it.

"It's nice to meet you, Zoey," Travis says, flashing me a smile. He spreads his arms for a hug. I give him a look.

"Oh come on," he persists, wrapping his arms around my body. I tense up. Ashton catches my eye and gives me an amused smile.

"I really like the song. It's very romantic," Travis tries again.

I sigh, "I wrote it for me and my boyfriend."

"You have a boyfriend?" He questions, his smile faltering.

"Yeah," I reply.

"Oh."

"Well, why don't we go ahead and start to record this bad boy?" Jenn asks, trying to change the subject.

I shrug and allow myself to be led into the recording booth with Travis.

"Alright you two. I want emotion in this song. Let's get it done sooner rather than later," the tech person says. Travis and I nod and put the headphones on.

(Z= Zoey, T= Travis, B= both)

Z: Take my hand, take a breath
Pull me close and take one step
Keep your eyes locked on mine
And let the music be your guide

T: Won't you promise me?
Z: (Now won't you promise me?)
Z: (That you'll never forget)
T: We'll keep dancing
Z: (To keep dancing)
B: Wherever we go next

B: It's like catching lightening, the chances of finding
Someone like you
It's one in a million, the chances of feeling
The way we do

B: And with every step together
We just keep on getting better

Z: So can I have this dance?
T: (Can I have this dance?)
B: Can I have this dance?

T: Take my hand, I'll take the lead
And every turn will be safe with me
Don't be afraid, afraid to fall
You know I'll catch you through it all

T: And you can't keep us apart
Z: (Even a thousand miles can't keep us apart)
B: 'Cause my heart is wherever you are

B: It's like catching lightening, the chances of finding
Someone like you
It's one in a million, the chances of feeling
The way we do

B: And with every step together
We just keep on getting better
Z: So can I have this dance?
T: (Can I have this dance?)
B: Can I have this dance?

Z: Oh, no mountain's too high and no ocean's too wide
'Cause together or not, our dance won't stop
Let it rain, let it pour, what we have is worth fighting for
B: You know I believe that we were meant to be! Oh!

B: It's like catching lightening, the chances of finding
Someone like you
It's one in a million, the chances of feeling
The way we do

B: And with every step together
We just keep on getting better
Z: So can I have this dance?
T: (Can I have this dance?)
B: Can I have this dance?
Can I have this dance?
Can I have this dance?

Obviously the song is Can I have this Dance from one from the greatest movies ever, High School Musical 3: Senior Year.
