And please don't hate me for this.
Zoey's pov
"Peyton," I whimper, my voice hardly audible. I take off running towards the crash site.
"I'm sorry miss, but this area is restricted," the officer says, pushing me back slightly.
"Please," I beg, "that's my boyfriend's car." The cop gives me a sad look, then allows me to pass. I run through.
"Please be okay," I pray as I get over to his car.
"Get down!" One of the firemen yell. Everyone around the cars gets down. A younger fireman sees me standing there in shock and runs over to me.
He pulls me down to the ground right before there's an explosion.
Please God, I think, don't let it be Peyton's car or Peyton.
A minute later, the ringing in my ears a had stopped. We all rise back up. My prayers were not answered this time. Peyton's car had blown up.
"Peyton," I whisper, my throat burning. I try to run past the fireman to see if I could spot my boyfriend. He catches me in his arms.
"I'm sorry miss, but it's dangerous over here. You can't go back there," he tells me.
"My boyfriend. The car that just exploded was his. Is he, did you get him out of there?" I ask, tears running down my cheeks.
The sadness in his eyes told me all that I needed to know.
Peyton had not gotten out of that car before it exploded. Peyton had been in that explosion. Peyton was now gone.
Forever.
Bryana's pov
"Hello Connor," I say, tickling my nephew.
"I don't know how Zoey did it. I'm not even a month pregnant yet and I hate it. But she hardly complained at all," Charlotte whines, emerging from the bathroom where she had retreated to get sick.
"You know Zoey. She hates complaining about her problems," Luke points out.
I nod, "Speaking of her problems, how do you think her talk with Peyton is going?"
"I bet the two of them are making out in a booth right now. Zoey was pretty pissed off, but she can't stay mad at Peyton. He's her other half," Ashton says. No one argues. We all know that it's true.
"What about you, Charlotte? Do you think that you and Jace will ever get back together?" Calum questions.
Charlotte's jaw tightens, "No. He doesn't want to ever be part of our baby's life. He, unlike Peyton, was only in it for the money."
"I'm sorry, Char. Boys can be pretty stupid, huh?" I ask, sympathizing with her.
"Yeah," she agrees, nodding.
"Hey!" Luke protests.
"We're right here!" Michael exclaims.
"Sorry guys. All boys suck, except for you four, Peyton most of the time, Andrew, and Connor," Charlotte giggles, taking the baby from my arms. I don't protest.
I lived with Zoey for a while when she was pregnant and know how awful her mood swings were. I don't want to find out if Charlotte is the same way or not.
