Zoey's pov

"Zoey!" Charlotte yells, throwing her arms around me.

"Charlotte!" I mimic, hugging her back. She squeezes me tightly.

"You're a brunette now! I love it!" She chirps, examining a lock of my dark brunette hair.

I roll my eyes, "Don't get too attached to it. The only reason that's it's still this color is because I haven't been to the store yet."

"What color are you going to dye it?" She questions.

"Green, purple and blue," I answer.

"What about your lip and nose piercings? Are you going to get those repierced?" Charlotte asks me, as we walk upstairs to my bedroom.

"Probably. Why?" I ask.

"Because I want to get my nose pierced too. So I'll go with you," she replies.

I grin, "I don't mind, but why don't you just go alone?"

"Because there might be a slight chance that I'm scared to go alone," Charlotte mutters under her breath.

"Aw. It's alright Char. I'll hold your hand," I comfort, resting my head on her shoulder.

"Thank you best friend," she replies, resting her head on top of mine.

"So how's it going between you and Jace?" I ask.

"Good. He's such a gentleman. And my mom loves him," Charlotte informs me, her cheeks getting pink.

"Your mom likes everyone," I point out.

"Not true," she denies, "remember my last boyfriend, Nick? She didn't like him."

"Well that's because he was a major jerk who broke your heart," I say.

"I know. But you said that she likes everyone when she doesn't," Char persists.

I roll my eyes and give in, "Fine Charlotte. You were right. Your mother doesn't like everyone. Just almost everyone."

"Thank you. But you left out the part in there where you mention how I'm always right," she teases. I give her yet another eye roll.

"So what about you and Peyton? What have you two love birds been up to?" Charlotte questions, reclining back on my bed.

"Nothing much. The boys had a new management party last night that we got dragged to," I reply, copying her actions.

"And how was that? Are the new managers better than asshole number one and asshole number two?" She asks.

I frown, my eyebrows scrunching together, "I don't know. I can't remember."

"You can't remember? Isn't that a song by your brothers or something?"

"Yeah. But it's really weird. Peyton and I both woke up this morning and neither of us can remember anything that happened last night," I tell my best friend.

"Interesting. Did you two get drunk? Sometimes people lose their memories of the previous night when they get drunk," Charlotte suggests.

I shake my head no, "Neither of us like to drink."

"Well then, I have absolutely no idea. Do you want to go bug Peyton and Jace while they try to play their dumb video games?" She asks me, sitting up quickly. I grin and nod. Then the two of us go running out of my room, towards the game room.
