I just got off the phone with my mom, they just arrived at the campground, along with my brother. She told us to find a place to stop at for lunch because they still had to set up the camper and everything, and it might take them awhile.
"Where do you want to go for lunch?" I ask Jessica. Sam is still asleep, he has been for over an hour, and frankly I'm glad for his laziness because it means that I don't have to hear his complaining.
"I dont really care. Why don't you go ahead and pick a spot," she tells me and I smile at her. If I had asked Sami that same question, he would have answered with Burger King, even though he knows I hate their food there, he loves it.
I decide to just pull into the parking lot of a small diner because I don't feel like driving all over trying to find a place Sam will like. Even though he's aleep, he still has a habit of annoying me.
"I'll just go in and order for us, you can get out and stretch if you want," I tell Jess.
"No its fine, I will order for all three of us," she suggests, "What do you want?"
I grab a piece of paper and a pen from the glove box and just write down what I want, along with a guess of what I think Sam would want.
I hand the slip of paper to her, "Thanks," I tell her and she gets out of the car and walks toward the entrance of the small diner.
I look down at Sami, he is in the same position that he was in earlier, still looking extremely uncomfortable to me, but oh well, atleast he isn't awake and complaining.
And as if on cue, he stirs in his sleep and his eyes open and he looks up at me.
"Hey," he says.
"Did you sleep well?"
"Yes," he sits up, "Are we not there yet?"
"Don't you dare start complaining, Sami. We only have about twenty minutes to go, that's not bad."
Sami then climbs over the center console and into the passenger seat, pretty much stealing Jessica's spot.
"What do you think your doing?" I ask him as he plops down in the seat.
"Where did she go?" He asks me instead of actually answering my question.
"She was kind enough to go inside and order our lunch, so don't be taking her seat."
"She can sit in the back for twenty more minutes, she won't mind."
"Yeah, and so can you. Get back there."
"I just wanted to sit by you," he tells me with a sad pout on his face as he moves back over the console and to the backseat.
"You sat literally right beside me this whole way, Sami."
"Whatever."
Is this just his depression, or is Sami really that upset that he didn't get to sit by me on the way here? But I mean, he did sit between Jess and i, he was pretty much touching me the whole time.
I turn around in my seat so I can face him, "Hey," he looks up at me, that adorable pout still on his face, "I promise you can sit up front with me on the way home. Okay?"
"What if she gets there first?" He asks me.
"I will tell her that you already called shotgun. Does that seem fair enough?" I swear, I feel like I am talking with a five year old.
A huge grin appears on Samis face and he leans in so he is closer to me, "That seems fair," he confirms.
I lean in and peck him quick on the lips, "Good," I say before going in for another sweet kiss.
