Jackie's POV
I rush over to Samis house right after school because i promised him last night that i would come over.
I dont think he is doing too good with the whole breakup with Lexi. He doesnt talk much and he cries a whole awful lot.
Ive tried asking him what he did to make Lexi break up with him, but hes come up with multiple ways to avoid answering.
When i get to Sams house i knock on the front door and when it opens, Mrs. Tucker is standing there.
She invites me inside.
"Um, Sami asked me to come over after school. If thats alright with you."
"Of coarse. But first i wanted to talk to you."
"About what?" i ask her.
"Can we talk in the kitchen? Sami is in his bedroom, i dont want him to hear us."
I follow her into the kitchen where she sits down at the kitchen table and gestures for me to sit down beside her. I take a seat and look at her expectantly.
"I think we both know that something is up with my son. But he wont tell me anything. I was hoping that he told you?" her last comment comes out as a question.
"Uh, its not my place to tell you, Mrs. Tucker. Im sorry. But i think Sami should be the one to tell you. Besides, im not entirely sure if its the truth or not."
"Right, im sorry. Its just that i know something is bothering him. Its like my 'mom senses' are picking up something whenever he walks in the room, but i just cant tell what it is. All i want is to help him, but he refuses to tell me anything. This morning he complained that he wasnt feeling good so i let him stay home, thinking he was sick. Hes been cooped up in his room all day. I dont know what to do about him."
"I think you should just sit him down and ask whats going on. Tell him that you wont get mad and explode on him. Because im pretty certain you'll want to after he tells you."
"But do you really think hes going to tell me if i just ask?"
"I think he has to know that you will stick by his side and support him no matter what comes out of his mouth. I think hes just scared to tell you because of how he thinks you will react."
Mrs. Tucker and i abrubtly stop our conversation when Sami limps through the door on his crutches and into the kitchen.
"Jackie, what are you doing here? I told you not to come over," Sami says. He looks exhausted and he has bags under his bloodshot eyes. His hair is a tangled mess and his t-shirt is covered in wrinkles.
"I know. But i just wanted to check up on you."
"I dont need you to check up on me every single day. Im fine."
"You dont look fine," i mutter under my breath but Sami hears me and glares in my direction.
"Hey Sami, honey," he looks over at his mom from where he is standing and peering into the fridge, "I think we should talk."
I stand up then and go over to Sam. I wrap my arms around his waist and rest my chin on his shoulder. He doesnt return the hug, he just stands there.
"Did you tell her?" he whispers into my ear.
"No, but you need to."
He pulls back away from me and frowns.
"Sorry," i mouth as i walk out of the room, "Goodluck!" i call before closing their front door.
I make my way to my car parked in the Tucker' driveway. I hope Sami tells his mother whats going on. If he doesnt hes just a dumb idiot. He obviously needs help, whether he believes it or not, he wont get Lexi back by himself.
I started my car and backed out of the driveway, then headed for Lexis' house. We had some things to clear up.
