Sami's POV
After Jackie left, my mom told me to sit down so she could talk to me. And its all because of Jackie.
My mom wouldnt know anything if Jackie didnt say anything.
"Sami, look, i know something is bothering you. And i really want to help, but i cant if you dont tell me whats going on."
"I dont need your help with anything," i tell my mom.
"I beg to differ," she tells me with raised eyebrows, "I know something has been bothering you, and i just want you to be able to talk to me. You know you can trust me, right?"
If i do tell her, then she is going to flip her shit. She will be so pissed. Im only sixteen, i dont know how to raise a kid.
When i dont say anything, my mom speaks again, "Is it bad, Sami?"
"Yeah," i say slowly, looking down at my cast.
"How bad?"
"Bad enough to make you hate me."
"Sami, I could never hate you. You're my baby," Ha. I would have laughed if this was any other situation, "I will not get mad about whatever you tell me."
I look up at her, "promise?"
She smiles, but only slightly, "I promise. I just dont want you keeping anything from me."
I decide to go ahead and tell my mom everything from the party where i had drunken sex with Sophia up to yesterday after school when i told Lexi the truth and she dumped me.
I watched my moms face change emotions as i told her the situation i put myself into. First she looked encouraging, which changed to shocked, then to angry, and then to sad.
"Im sorry. Mom, i dont know what to do," tears are pricking my eyes, but i hold them back. Id rather not cry in front of my mom.
She sits there, her head down with her face in her hands, she doesnt say anything right away.
"Sami, i will always be here for you. You know that. And ill love you no matter what, okay. And i dont hate you for what happened."
My mom, it seems like, is looking deep into my soul. It makes me a little uncomfortable with her staring at me like that, so i look away.
"So how do you know for sure thats it your baby?" she asks me.
"She showed me this stick thing that she peed on, and it had a plus sign on it. She said the plus sign meant she was pregnant."
"A pregnancy test?"
I nod, "I think so."
"But how do you know that the baby is yours Sami?"
"Sophia told me it was."
My mom is confusing me. I dont even know if it is my baby anymore. What if its not? Of coarse it is, i did have sex with Sophia, i cant deny that, no matter how much i wish i could take it back.
"Thats not really proof, Sami."
"Well, thats what she told me. She said it was true."
"You cant always believe what people tell you. Im going to call Sophias parents an-"
"No! You cant call her parents, mom. She told me not to tell anybody. She threatened me not to tell anybody," Sophia told me that if i told anyone about her being pregnant, she would personally chop my manhood off. And thats not a risk im willing to take.
My mom puts her phone down on the table and looks at me, "Are you scared of this girl, Sami?"
"Yeah, she fucking nuts!"
"Language."
"Sorry. But you cant call her parents. If you do, im pretty sure she would come over here and literally kill me in my sleep."
My mom grins, "I think you are literally being over-dramatic," she teases me.
"Mom," i whine, "im completely serious. This chick should be in a mental institute for Christ's sake."
She gives me a pointed look.
"Sorry," i say again.
"Would you honestly feel like your life is in danger if i called her parents?"
"Yeah, shes a total whack-job."
"Okay, i wont call her parents then."
I blow out a breath, "Thank God."
"But i do want you to do something. I want you to ask Sophia to have a DNA test done to see if it really is your baby. Okay? Because otherwi-"
My mom is cut off mid-sentence as my dad barges into the room.
"WHAT?" he screams, making both my mom and i jump. I didnt even hear him come home.
He comes at me fast and in one swift motion he has me up against the wall by my throat. The chair i was sitting in earlier is now on the floor, and a picture frame had fallen off the wall and shattered.
My mom is behind him screaming at him to let me go, but he ignores her.
"What is this i hear about you having a baby?" he screams in my face.
"James! Let him go, right now!" my mom hollers and pulls on his shoulder, he doesnt budge.
My dad is in my face, gripping my throat tightly. Hes got me lifted so i can just barely touch my tip toes to the ground. Hes pretty much supporting all of my weight.
"No! What did your mother just say about you having a baby, Sami?"
Im too scared to answer him. I open my mouth, but nothing comes out.
My dad gets angry when i dont answer his question and he raises his fist and slams it hard against the right side of my face. On impact my head slams backwards into the wall. I blink a couple of times, trying to get rid of the dizziness.
"Let him go! Or i swear to God, James, i will call the police and have you arrested," my mom threatens.
My dad stares at me for a long moment before finally releasing me. My mom catches me before i can fall to the ground. Its like he didnt know exactly what he was doing. He storms out of the room and shortly after i hear the front door slam shut.
My mom is crying and hugging me tightly against her chest.
"Are you okay, baby?" my mom asks between sobs as she strokes my hair.
"Im fine mom. Are you okay?" i pull away and look down at her. She has tears rolling down her cheeks
"Hes not allowed in this house again. And he is certainly not going to touch you like that ever again."
"What do you mean? Are you divorcing dad?" i look at mom, completely shocked. I thought they were in love with eachother?
