"Where are you going?"

My dads voice startles me as i make my way downstairs toward the front door.

"Im going with Jackie to the baseball game."

My dad is standing in the kitchen doorway, leaning on the frame, staring back at me with his arms folded across his chest.

"Whos baseball game?" he questions with raised eyebrows.

"Sami Tucker's."

He stares at me for a moment, eyes narrowed, then says, "I thought you broke up with that boy."

"I did, dad. But i think everything is going to be okay between us now."

"Really?"

"Yeah."

"Dont forget what he did to you, Lexi. I mean it. Once an asshole, always an asshole. Remember that, i dont want you to get hurt."

"I will, dad. And Sami wont hurt me. It was all just a misunderstanding. I promise."

I make a move toward the door then, and my dad says, "Just be careful, Lex. And be safe."

I pull my dad into a hug and stand up on my tip toes and plant a kiss on his cheek, "I will daddy. I love you," then im out the door.

I wait on the front porch for Jackie, she said she would pick me up so we could go to Sami's game together, but im surprised when a truck pulls into my driveway instead.

I climb into the passenger seat and turn to face Sami, "What are you doing here?"

He has a hurt expression on his face, "Jackie told me to come pick you up. Why? Is that a problem?"

"No, no, no problem," i realize that i was a little harsh with my greeting, "I was...just expecting Jackie is all. Im totally fine with you giving me a ride."

"Okay," he says, not sounding too sure. He backs out of my driveway and starts making his way toward the baseball fields.

I find that we have nothing to talk about when we find ourselves sitting in an awkward silence. I know we should have tons of things that we could talk about since we havent spoken in what seems like forever.

Eventually we pull into the baseball fields' parking lot, at exactly 6:09, Sami's game doesnt actually start until 7 though, but Jackie and i usually, or should i say we used to, come early so we could watch the team practice.

"Ill watch you over to the bleachers and help you find Jackie," Sam offers as he slings his baseball bag over his shoulder. We walk side by side over to the bleachers and i immediantly see Jackie standing by the fence that surrounds the entire field.

Jackson is standing on the other side of the fence and i see that they are talking, but for Jackie its looks more like shes blushing at whatever Jackson is saying to her.

"There you are!" Jackson shouts when he sees us walking him and Jackies way, "Coach was about to send in that dickwad Thatcher."

"I heard that!" shouted a distant voice.

Jackson turns around and shouts in the direction of the dugout, "Good!"

"Tucker! You better get your ass on the mound now if you want to pitch today!"

"Gotta go," Sam suddenly leans in and pecks a quick kiss on my cheek, "see you after the game," then hes off, heading for the dugout.

I stand there, competely still, shocked from what Sami had just done. He just kissed me like we are dating. Did he realize what he had just done? Maybe it was an accident? He couldnt have meant to do that, right?

Goddammit Sami Tucker! i mentally shout, You are so confusing.

"Did he...?" Jackie asks.

All i am able to do to answer her question was to nod my head. I think we were both shocked by Sami's actions.

The only question that i couldnt come up with an answer for was: What the hell had possessed Sami to kiss me?

Sami's game lasts almost three hours and by the time it ends, the only lights are the ones providing light for the field. Sami had pitched almost a perfect game, only letting three runners onto the bases, but luckily the rest of the team was able to get two of those runners out before they reached third. Our team won 12-1.

"That was an awesome game," i tell Sami. Him and i are walking down the rows of cars in the parking lot, toward his truck so he can drive me home.

"Thanks. We were pretty great, werent we?"

I grin up at him before changing the topic completely, "So...about that kiss before the game-"

"Look Lexi. Im sorry, i honestly didnt even mean to kiss you like that. I surprised myself. I guess i just did it on reflex. Im s-"

I lean in and press my lips to his softly, in an attempt to shut him up, it works. It takes a moment for Sam to react to my kiss and by then hes tilted his head to deepen the kiss. God, how ive missed these lips.

I pull away and look up at Sami. His eyes are hopeful, i can tell by just looking at him.

"Does this mea-"

"I want to get back together," i blurt out before i can stop myself.

"Really? You do?"

I nod my head and i realize that, yeah i really do want to get back together with him, "Ive missed you."

He leans in and soon enough we are locked in an intense makeout session.

"I love you so much," Sami gasps between kisses.

"You dont even know how much ive missed your kisses."

"I think ive got an idea," he grins before going in for another kiss.
