Trouble in Paradise

Chapter 37

Its the last day of spring break, we have to go back to school tomorrow. My family got back home yesterday afternoon and i havent seen Sami since yesterday when i dropped him off at his house. I assume hes been sleeping all day.

His mom was waiting on the front walk of his house for him when i dropped him off, and she ran to him as soon as he climbed out of my car. She held him in a tight hug for a long time and he rolled his eyes at me over her shoulder. She said that she had missed him and could hardly get any sleep because she was afraid that something would happen to him.

I spent all morning unpacking because last night Jackie had stayed over. She told me all about her date with Jackson. He took her to a movie- they saw some comedy, i dont remember the name-, and then he took her to the race track just a little ways out of town, where they raced around in go-carts.

She said that after that Jackson took her to his house and they just stayed up late watching movies and cuddling on his living room couch.

She said that Jackson had asked her to be his girlfriend last night during a really cheesy part of the movie. And i was glad to hear that she said yes to being his girlfriend.

Now her and Jackson and Sam and i can go out on double dates. This is going to be so much fun.

Sami: wat r u doing rn?

My phone buzzes in my lap. I am sitting on the couch watching tv in the living room with Jackie. She is half asleep beside me on the other end of the couch, even though its almost noon.

Me: just watching tv with Jackie. Why?

Sami: Jax and i r going 2 the ramps aftr lnch, if u guys wnt 2 cum

"Jackie," i poke her arm hard enough to where her rifht eye pops open and she glares at me out of the corner of her eye, "Do you want to go to the ramps with the boys?"

"Sure, whatever," she grunts and goes back to sleep.

Me: we are coming!

Sami: meet us there at 12 30

Me: okay babe. See you there

I glance at the clock on my screen. 12:17pm. Wow, not much of a heads up, Sam.

"Jackie," i poke her arm, "we should get going now. It'll take a while to get there."

Jackie and i get up and start heading for the ramps. We get there twenty minutes later.

"You guys' are late," Sam tells me once we pull into a parking spot and find the boys' waiting in Sams truck.

He climbs out of the drivers seat and i grab him by the collar of his t-shirt, pulling him closer and pressing my forehead to his.

"Thats because you waited too late to ask us to come, you doofus."

I pull him down so i can reach his lips.

"Okay, lovebirds. Thats enough," Jackson teases. Him and Jackie are standing side by side, he has his arm draped across her shoulders. I smile pointedly at Jackie and she smiles back shyly and looks at the ground.

Sam looks at the two of them, he is clearly confused. "What...?"

"You didnt tell him yet?" Jackie looks up at Jackson.

"I was going to, but then we started played Xbox and i forgot," Jackson admits. What a lame excuse.

"You two are dating?" Sam looks at Jackson, "Since when? You never told me you liked her."

"Surprise," Jackson says and awkwardly rubs the back of his neck.

Sam grabs a hold of my hand and he pulls me toward the tailgate of his truck to get his bike.
