"Brother?" Alex repeated, none of it made sense, "what the fuck?" He dropped back into his seat, "I don't have a brother"
She nodded, "I'm sorry...alright, I'm sorry for all of this" she told him, this isn't how she wanted to do this...she didn't want to do it at all.
"No..he's not my brother..why're you lying?" the room spinning, "Why would you say that?" His voice was shaky and soft. He got up again and turned to leave, Sylvia grabbed his hand.
"Let go of me!" Alex barked.
"No..I won't" Sylvia cried, "I need to explain..I need you to understand!"
He yanked his hand free from her's, "I can't...I need to get out of here" he huffed, he sprinted for the door.
Sylvia watched as her son walked out of the restaurant, she could only hope he wasn't walking out of her life.
Kim raced down the hallway, "We got here as soon as we could" she bent down and hugged Erin, "where's Jay?" She asked glancing around the room.
Erin blew her nose, "With the baby...something was wrong with it" she cried, "I made Jay go with the baby"
"I will go find a nurse, this is ridiculous" Kim huffed, she knew all to well how Erin was feeling.
"Woah, Darlin', slow down" Adam smiled as he ushered Jay in, "Here's Halstead..and baby" he smiled.
"Jay?" Erin croaked, Jay going to her bedside and carefully placing the infant in her arms.
"The newest Halstead's a dude" he smiled, "Sorry babe" he kissed her lips softly as his infant son squawked.
"A boy?"
"Yep, Emme's gonna be pissed" he laughed, "he's perfectly healthy. I'm thinking he's our problem child..doctors couldn't find anything wrong with him"
Erin released the breath, "Really?"
"Yes, Will's buddy checked him out he's good" he stroked the infants head.
"Congratulations" Adam clapped Jay on the back, "he's perfect...he got a name?"
Jay and Erin looked at each other and laughed, "No" they both answered simultaneously.
Kim slapped Adam's arm, "do you remember how long it took us to name Nicky" she smiled at the memory.
"I do" he laughed, "I'm sure you'll both get it together soon"
Adam smiled solemnly at Kim, "We should get home to Nicky" he squeezed her hand.
"Not yet, I need to hold him" she left Adam's side and held her arms out to Erin, "are you going to share?" She teased.
Erin laughed and carefully transferred the infant into Kim's arms.
Kim felt her heart swell with love, she nuzzled his soft auburn hair inhaling his scent. She was drinking him in, he was beautiful, "he looks like Jake...doesn't he?" dragging her eyes from the infant in her arms focusing on her husband, "do you want him, Adam?"
Adam was about to respond when baby boy Halstead started to fuss, "uh...I'm good thanks" he laughed, Kim returned the baby to Erin.
