Chapter 4

Brant Daugherty is Mason!

I woke up and Jake's arms were still around me. He was in the same clothes he was in last night minus the shirt. I rolled over and saw it was 8:30. I got out of bed and went to the bathroom. My eyes were red and puffy. I put on make up to cover it and the bruise forming on my cheek. I got dressed in leggings and a sweatshirt. When I went back into my room Jake was awake texting someone.

"sorry I fell asleep last night" Jake said.

"It's okay I needed it. Thank you"

"It's the least I could do" he said. "Mason said that Mom and Kason went to grandmas yesterday and they'll be back tomorrow. And he went to someone's house. So it's just us"

"Well I don't know about you but I'm starving" I said and walked downstairs. I grabbed waffles out of the freezer and put them in the toaster. When They were done I went to the living room and watched some TV. Jake followed. We turned on Law and Order.

"Taylor, I really am so sorry"

"Jake please just forget it, I'm trying to and you reminding every few seconds isn't helping"

"Okay I just feel bad"

"Jake shut up" I laughed it off.  But honestly I just want to cry everytime I think about it.  "let's go get ice cream"

"It's only 10 Taylor"

"And? Come on! " I said whining. He rolled his eyes and grabbed his keys.  "Yes! " I said as I slipped on my shoes. We got in his car and drove to Dairy Queen. As we ate our ice cream one of Jake's friends came in.

"Aye dude!" he said and him and Jake did a handshake thing.

"Why'd you leave so early last night bro?"

"I had someone I needed to help"

"Well that someone is pretty special, you didn't even leave for the birth of your brother" he laughed and Jake looked nervous.

"Yeah, they are pretty important" he said blushing.

"Well Man I'll see you at the beach tonight right?"

"Of course. Can't miss the annual family dinner" he said and the guy waved goodbye to us and left.

"Annual Family Dinner? " I asked breaking the silence.

"Yeah. We have a big dinner at the Beach with our family, Nick's family, and Jackson's family every month"

"I'm guessing that was Jackson." I said as I finished my ice cream.

"Oh yeah. Sorry I forgot to introduce you to him but he's cool. Him, Nick and I have been friends since Kindergarten." I nodded and we got up and decided to go back home. Jessie and Jasons cars were in the driveway and Jace was riding his skateboard down the driveway.

"Get ready we have to leave soon" Jessie told us.

"Mom the dinner isn't until 5, its only noon." Mason said.

"I know, but we're always late. Plus, it will give Taylor a chance to settle in before there's a bunch of people there."

"How many people are there exactly?" I whispered to Mason and Jake.

"Well Nick's Family has him, his parents, and little sister, Jackson's has him, his parents, his twin brothers, and twin sisters. So about 16 not including you" Mason replied. I nodded and went inside to get ready. 

Three hours later Jessie calls us all down to get going.  She had fruit, meat, and buns in her hand.  I took the fruit and buns from her and she thanked me with her eyes.  We all piled in the minivan.  I got stuck sitting between Mason and Jace. It was an hour ride to the beach so I got cozy and fell asleep on Mason's shoulder while Jace fell asleep on mine.

When I woke up we were here and Jessie was getting Kason out of the car. I saw a huge tent on the beach with tables set up under it and Nick and I'm assuming his parents were setting up some more food. I saw Kasey and got excited. When she saw me she ran up to me.

"What at you doing here?!" she asked.

"I live with Johnson's for the next four months while my parents are in Africa. What are you doing here? "

"Nick is my older brother" she said pointing to Nick, he waved and I smiled back. We started walking to the tent. "What happened to you last night? I saw Jake carrying you out while you were crying and I don't have your number so I couldn't call and ask"

"I don't know his name but he came on to me let's say" I said looking at my feet.

"Parker! He's the biggest perve at Tampa High and is one of the only reasons Nick, Jake and Jackson and Kaleb get in so many fights. I'm sorry that happened are you okay?"

"Yeah I was just shaken up" by the time we ended the conversation we were at the Tent.

"Let's go swimming" Nick said and took off his shirt. Jake, Mason, and Jace followed behind him while me and Kasey stayed back for a little bit.

Soon Jackson and his family got there and Jackson introduced himself and his brother Kaleb. They looked alike but Kaleb was almost as good looking as Jake. As soon as they got there Kason started playing with their sisters and playing in the sand and the adults went to talk around the grill. We went to the water. I took of my shirt and shorts revealing my torquoise bikini. Kasey had on a black one with pink dots on it. Jackson and Kaleb took off their shirts and we got in the very cold water.

"So Taylor, you ever been to Tampa? " Kaleb asked while everyone else had a water fight.

"I used to. Until I was 5. That's how my parents know Jessie and Jason. My mom and Jessie are best friends but they went to Tanzania for four months so I'm staying here" I said for probably the billionth time.

"I love it here, the beach, the fairs, everything" he said looking into my eyes.

"Yeah, it's beautiful" I replied.

Kasey splashed me with water and broke my daze. "KASEY" I yelled.

"sorry? " she tried and laughed. I ran after her and tackled her into the water. Soon we were all messing around and tackling each other.

Jessie called us for dinner and we all got out. I got some pulled pork with barbeque sauce and some strawberries and chips. I sat at the table next to Kaleb and Kasey. Jake sat across from me and we all had our own conversations. Kaleb and I talked about baseball.

"I have to use the restroom I'll be back" I said and walked my way to the bathroom. When I was finished Kaleb was standing outside. "Jesus fuck you scared me" I said and laughed.

He laughed and he lightly pushed me into the door. He kissed me roughly but passionately. He rubbed his hands over my almost fully exposed body, when I kissed back.

"What the hell Kaleb?" Kasey said with her arms crossed. He pulled away and smirked.

"Sorry Kasey, you're not the hot one anymore"
