Chapter 14

For the next two weeks, we hung around the house and went to the beach and the swimming hole. School started in three weeks and Jessie was scrambling go get me enrolled. She said that since technically she doesn't have legal guardianship of me that it's complicated.

I told her that she doesn't have to enroll me anyway since I'm leaving a month after school starts. She thought about but then decided against that.

I talked to my mom and dad yesterday and she apologized for all the things she said last time I talked to her. Their both happy for me and the fact that's they'll have a grandchild.

"Tay,  could you run to Piggly Wiggly and get some chips for dinner tonight?" Jessie asked me. 

"What kind?"

"Lays" she said and tossed me her keys.  I nodded and ran to the store quick.  When I came back Nick and Kasey were here with their mom and dad. 

"Hello Taylor" Their mom smiled. 

"Hey Kelly, Hi Jim" I said to them. 

"Hi Taylor,  Kasey and Nick are in the back with Mason, Jace, Kason and Jake" Jim said.  I nodded and put the chips on the counter.  Kasey was sitting on the patio while the boys played football.  Jim came out and teamed up with Mason and Jason.

"Your dad is pretty cool" I said to Kasey.

"My step dad is pretty cool,  but my dad is an asshole" she said. 

"Jim's your step-dad?"

"Yeah" she laughed.

"I would have never thought"

"Nobody does" she laughed.

"Well he seems to really love you and your mom and Nick"

"He does.  He tells us everyday since they got married and even before that"

"How old were you when they got together"

"Seven, and Nick was eight"

"Wow,  I've never met anyone with step parents, my best friend back home it's just her and her dad and I never really talked to many other people about their family"

"Step parents are pretty cool.  I mean I love Jim and he loves us which is amazing because we're not his kids but he treats us like we are" she smiled.  Kelly and Jessie came out and they sat with us.  We talked about a bunch of things and it was nice. I have never really sat down and laughed and talked with anyone besides my family before. But I guess they are my family now. 

Jake went into the house for a minute and came back with a skinny blonde. "Everyone this is Hailey and she is my girlfriend" he said wrapping his arm around her.  Jessie smiled at her

"Jake can we speak in the kitchen please" Jessie said getting up and walking towards the house.  He nodded and kissed the blonde on the cheek. 

Now I'm not gonna lie,  she's gorgeous. Drop dead gorgeous. But she looks like a mega bitch.  She has a crop top on exposing her belly button and most of her boobs.  She has a booty shorts on from American eagle and black flip flops on.  Her hair is up in a pony tail and her face has more icing than a cake. 

"Hey Kase" she said sitting next to Kasey.  Oh fuck no. 

Jessie POV

"Jake can I speak to you in the kitchen?" I asked after seeing the skinny bitch he brought over.
