Chapter 11

It's been a week since I found out I was pregnant. I asked Kasey, Nick and Mason to just keep it to themselves and I will tell Jessie and Jake soon.

Jake and I haven't said anything since the party.  Jessie asked Jake about it and he said that we both are busy and don't need to talk to each other all the time. 

I knocked on his door and he answered it shirtless and in shorts.  "Can we talk?" I asked.  He opened his door wider and walked to his bed.  I shut the door and took  a few steps. 

"What's up?" he said with a sad look in his eyes. 

"I'm pregnant" I said.  His expression went from shocked to angry to scared in a matter of five seconds. 

"Why are you telling me this?"

"Because unlike you,  your the only person I've slept with.  So it's yours." I said.

"If this is some cruel prank Taylor I swear to god. " I went to the bathroom and grabbed all the tests that were now in a plastic bag. 

"Is that enough proof?" I asked.  He nodded.  He set the tests down and started pacing. 

"Fuck.  Fuck.  Fuck! " he said rubbing his hand through his hair.

"We need to tell Jessie and Jason. " I said.

"Give me a second Taylor" he said. "When did you find out?"

"Last week.  The day after the party"

"Makes sense why you didn't tell me"

"I was scared Jake.  I thought you'd flip the fuck out and I don't know what to do"

"Well I'm sorry for what I did and I understand  if you won't forgive me but I will be here for this baby" he said and I let a breath go I didn't know I was holding.

"So. Should we go tell Jessie and Jason?" I asked. He nodded and I grabbed the tests and put them in my pocket.

"Mom, Dad can you come here?" Jake asked going outside. I followed and so did they. We sat down at the table.

"What's going on? " Jason asked.

"Me and Taylor were together for a little over a month secretly" Jake said. Jessie tensed and then smiled.

"I knew you two would start dating. I'm happy for you, but we have to make some rules now" she started.

"Jess we said were" Jason said smiling at her failure to notice.

"Oh then what's this about?"

"I'm pregnant" I said. Jessie's jaw dropped and she sat up straighter.

"That's not funny you two" Jason said seriously.

"It's not a joke" I said as I put the tests on the table. Jessie looked at the bag in shock. She kept looking from me to Jake to the tests and repeat.

"I'm so sorry. " I said. I started crying again and Jessie got teary eyed.

"Alright well. You will obviously have to tell your parents Taylor. And your gonna have to give us a minute" Jason said. He rubbed his hands through his hair and wiped tears away from Jessie's eyes.

"How far along are you?" she asked.

"I don't know for sure but about six weeks" I said.

"And when did you find out?"

"I found out today and she found out last week" Jake said.

"Why aren't you two together?" Jason asked looking sternly at Jake.

"I cheated on her" he said with his head down. That made me cry even more.

"Jake James Johnson you did what?" Jessie asked.

"It was the biggest mistake I've ever made mom, trust me" he said. She nodded and grabbed my hand.

"We are very upset, you two let this happen, but we will be here for all three of you. And I will get an ultrasound with Nick and Kasey's Aunt set up for tomorrow " Jessie said.

"Anything else we should know about?" Jason asked. We shook our heads no and they went inside. Me and Jake both took a deep breath. I was still crying and he wiped a few tears away.

"I'm sorry Taylor" he said and something tells me it was more than a simple sorry.

Throughout the night, I was waiting to call my parents. At about 8:00 my mom said I could call.

"Hello sweetie,  how are you? " my mom said into the phone.

"I'm good mom, How's Tanzania?" I asked. 

"It's beautiful. But I can't wait to see you, no why'd you need to call us"

"Mom I'm pregnant"

"Your what?!" she yelled.  "I can't believe you'd be so stupid Taylor Marie Ashton!"

"I'm sorry mom"

"How far are you!"

"6 weeks"

she yelled some more about how I was irresponsible and that she wouldn't help with money or anything once she got back.  She told me that she loves me but is very disappointed and then she had to go back to working.

"Howd she take it?" Jessie came and asked when I got off the phone.

"She isn't happy" I said.

"Well hunny she just expected you to get pregnant so young no mother does" she said and rubbed my back.

"You have a doctors appointment tomorrow and you will fall in love with your baby. I promise. And if you and Jake can't be together and parent make sure that baby is the first priority no matter what. And me and Jason love all three of you" she smiled and walked away.
