"So about the presentation.." Nestle asked Ginny who was busy filling purple color on a picture of a dinosaur.
"I got a pity A, Miss Mills said I had a flair with words. I hate it when they look at me differently." Nestle stared at Ginny, his thoughts drifted to Zella. He had not fully known Zella but he couldn't ignore the similarities in their characters, he wondered how Ginny would interact with Zella, he could see them teaming up against him and that provocative thought made him smile.
"She's right. You were the only one who didn't come up with stereotypical. You were unique." Nestle said winking at Ginny.
"Not having a mom is different dad, having to refer to a dictionary about moms is strange!" Ginny closed her coloring book and came closer and stood next to Nestle.
"Dad, do you like this place?" Nestle was cleaning a spark plug he discarded the cloth and looked at Ginny, she looked confused.
"Oh Ginny bee, don't you?" Nestle asked fearing her response. His thoughts were drifting to Zella, he couldn't leave town, for once he felt like home, he could only hope it would be the same for Ginny.
"I honestly do, but do you? look I'm just a kid, at least that what people think." Ginny said placing her tiny hands over Nestles large and greasy hands as though she was reassuring him, 'where is this girl learning all this from?' Nestle thought.
"You don't say" Nestle smirked.
"Dad, I'm serious, to ask you bluntly, are you single? Are you looking for a girl-friend?" Ginny asked. Nestle laughed at the seriousness in her voice, but he still couldn't figure out what she meant, she was six and she was far more sophisticated for her age, he wonder how was he going to deal with her teen years. Then he thought of Zella, he wondered whether this was the time to speak to Ginny about Zella, what ever little thing was between him and Zella.
"I don't understand what are you hinting at bumblebee." Nestle asked with a mock seriousness on his face.
"Well, its actually Miss Mills, she seems awfully and annoyingly interested in you, she keeps asking me about you, what you do? Do you have friends? Do you go for dates? If aunt would be available to babysit if you ever want to go out? Yada yada ya.. Long story short, I think she wants to go on a date with you. So what do you reckon?" she finished breathlessly.
"I reckon, you are too small to have this awkward conversation with, no matter how old you get it still will be weird."
"I know and that is why I say its cool if you want to date her and its cool if you don't." Ginny turned to her pick up her crayons and place them in the pouch.
"She's your teacher, its just too inappropriate for her to ask about me to you." Nestle said.
"Exactly what I thought! But then I thought its the grown-up thing to do." Ginny said waving her hand carelessly.
"So you're okay if I do decide to take someone out?" Nestle clarified; she nodded softly.
"Even if I let her tag along on our family day out?" Nestle added.
"I wouldn't push it that far dad!" Nestle laughed and pulled her to kiss the top of her head. She turned around to leave when she reached at the door she turned back she added "besides, you'd do the same when i want to date someone right?" Ginny joked.
"Date? My Ginny? Not in a million years!" Nestle said loosing his cool and Ginny found it to be hysterical.
"Daddy! You're funny!" Ginny said giggling and wiping off her tears, she turned back and left the room.
"I aint kidding girl!" Nestle called out.
Later that night Zella laughed loudly spitting the food from her mouth to fall on the counter. Nestle was shocked to see Zella laugh, he had expected her to comfort him or advice him, anything than being mocked.
