"who was that?" michael rested his hands on his knees, catching his breath. "i think i've seen him before."

"why do you care?" aspyn spat, reaching for her bags and walking away from the spot.

"wait!" michael yanked her arm, making her drop one of her bags. "i'm sorry, okay? please just come back to me; to us."

"sorry?" she gasped, acting as if she was surprised by what he had said. "would that make any difference? does it ever?"

with that, she turned her heel and continued walking, only to be stopped by michael blocking her way again.

she was about to say something when he cut her off.

"you - you forgot your bag. it's pretty heavy."

for a split second, that made aspyn's little heart feel warm and all - she always fell for little things like this. but there were much more bigger things michael has done to her, and she snapped out of her trance again.

"oh," she bit her lip, not knowing what else to say; it's not like she wants to say anything to him, anyway. "thanks, and goodbye."

she grabbed the bag from him and took one step before michael knelt in front of her, taking her aback. he took her hand and planted a kiss on the back of it, his lips lingering there for a moment, sending chills down her spine, before looking up at her; she guessed he still had an effect on her, after all he's done.

his green eyes, which once seemed to aspyn like a beautiful work of art, locked with hers. before, when moments like these happened, aspyn could feel her heart beating from her chest. but this time, she felt absolutely nothing; it was plastered on her face.

"aspyn sienna evans, i am so sorry," he spoke, slowly, emphasizing each and every syllable in that one sentence.

"sorry? oh, that word is so overrated," aspyn laughed ridiculously, pulling her hand away from his touch. "that's just one word against a thousand actions, baby."

aspyn looked around her and saw a group of people circling them, some phones were even out to film them.

people say that everyone has two sides, a good and a bad. and right now, in this very moment, the bad side of aspyn wanted to kick him in the balls, to humiliate him in front of all these people. to her, he deserved it anyway; he deserved to feel like shit for making her life feel like shit. but then, aspyn also knew how it felt to be like shit, thanks to her loving mother and stepfather. and she knew, and she was sure of it, that no one deserves to feel like that.

so she aborted her evil mission, and decided to simply just walk away instead.

aspyn managed to get far from michael in a short time without him following her. she was outside the airport now, standing and waiting for a cab to come and get her.

the cab came a few seconds later, and she hopped in and closed the door abruptly, wanting to get away from her ex as soon as possible.

"where are we headed, ma'am?" the driver, looking like he was in his mid-forties, looked at aspyn's reflection in the rear view mirror.

-

it was not long until aspyn reached her friend's apartment, her internet friend, actually; they met three years ago one midnight when aspyn went to omegle out of boredom, and they skyped, like, almost every day after that. aspyn never thought she would find someone like her, since she thought that she was the least friendliest person on the planet.

knocking softly on the wooden door, she called out for her friend's name. "jian!"

not a minute later, the door opened swiftly to reveal a fair skinned girl with jet black hair trailing down until her chin level and matching black eyes and a pointy nose; this was the first time aspyn has ever seen jian personally, and she felt warmth engulf her insides. aspyn didn't bother to tell jian she was coming to london because she wanted to surprise her and see the look on her face.

"oh my god, aspyn!" jian squealed and leaped into her arms, giving her the hug she promised to give when they finally see each other three years ago. "finally!"

"i'm so glad you're here," she said, pulling back and shedding a single tear falling down her cheeks. "i can't wait to do all fun stuff with you!"

"like not going outside and watching netflix while eating pizza and stalking hot guys on instagram until four in the morning?" aspyn guessed, and she nodded her head vigorously.

"exactly!" she said, grinning at the australian, white girl. "you know, it's a good thing i have a spare room around here."

"sounds good," aspyn complied, doing what she told her to. jian's apartment wasn't gigantic, neither was it small; it was just the perfect size for two people living together. the walls were painted green, since it was jian's favorite color, while there were two rooms down a little hallway.

"this one's mine," jian said, pointing at the white door with manga posters plastered everywhere. "obviously."

"and," she moved over to the side and pointed to another white door, free of posters or anything else, for the matter. "this one's yours!"

aspyn was about to say her thank you's when she suddenly heard a loud, rock song blasting from the ceiling, it sounded like. they both looked up at the ceiling, stunned; even thought it was loud and (kind of) annoying, the song wasn't bad at all.

"i'm sorry," jian yelled over the music, waving her hands up in the air to get aspyn's attention as she was still looking up at the ceiling. "my neighbor above is new here, actually. he just arrived today, like, five minutes before you did."

"it's okay," aspyn smiled, since she wasn't really bothered at all. "at least he's not blasting pitbull, right?" (a/n: sorry to any pitbullers out there)

that comment made aspyn and jian laugh out loud, literally, clutching on their stomachs. until, aspyn remembered it.

"jian," she said, her tone as flat as possible so jian would know she's being serious. "i'm dying."

"i know, right?" jian laughed, still not over that pitbull thing. "i'm dying too!"

"no, no," aspyn shook her head, taking a deep breath before opening her mouth once again; she wasn't likely to say the words out loud, but she did anyway.

"i'm running out of time."

that made jian stop laughing like a retarded seal, returning back to her senses. her eyes widened at aspyn's words, her jaw dropping momentarily.

"oh shit."
