Janie's POV: I haven't been going to chemo much since August, and it's December now. Whenever I did go I went with my dad though. I hate having to think that the doctor's taking me off of chemo and putting my dad on it. I still stay by his side even when I'm not due. I'm going to the doctor to get the results of my testing. Fingers crossed I'm in remission. It would be nice. Because I don't have chemo much anymore I've started growing my hair out again. It grows relatively quick, and is already at my shoulders. It's coming back curled, though, and not my normal straight hair. I don't care, I love the curls more. Dad and I walked into the doctor's office and waited. I've been dropping hints on Instagram that I'm releasing a new album soon, and the fans are losing their shit. The most popular comment I see is "New album?!". I told them I'd be posting something special on New Years Day, which will be the album cover. I've got about a week of toying with them left. I tried to come up with something as I waited. "Why don't we sign '16'?" My dad said. "You know sign language?" I asked. "I prepared myself in case you were gonna be born deaf or something." He said. I smiled and shook my head. He chuckled. I opened Instagram and turned on the front camera. I signed a 1 and my dad signed a 6, to signify the album name. I put a black and white filter on it and posted it with no caption. Within minutes I got comments "New album?!", "Please go on tour!", etc. I giggled at it. The doctor called us in and we went into an exam room. "Well Janie, how are you?" He asked with a smile. I hope this means good news. "Good. I don't use my wig anymore, and I'm excited for the new album." I said. "Well, I have some news that will make you even more excited." He said. "Say it doc, don't keep me waiting!" I said. We all chuckled. "Janie, you are officially in remission." The doctor said. "Yes!" I said. After a few minutes of talking, we left. He said I'm close to being cancer free, so he doesn't want me doing anymore chemo or radiation in fear it may come back. We got outside and I hugged my dad. We both teared up a little bit. "I told you you could do it!" He said as he pulled away. "I know. Ugh, I just wanna scream!" I said. "Wait until we get home." Dad said with a chuckle. We both got in the car and sang the whole ride home. When we finally arrived at the house, I ran inside. "Ok, we're home, can I do it now?!" I said as I bounced in place. "Hold on. Iman cover your ears." My dad said with a smile. Mom looked confused, but did it anyways. "Ok go." Dad said as he covered his ears. I let out a scream of joy. I started jumping. My mom nervously laughed. "So what do you wanna do tonight you little jumping bean?" Dad said with a smile. "Either Bowie movie night or game night." I said, still jumping. "We did game night last week so movie night." Dad said. "Can someone please fill me in here?" Mom asked as she got off the couch. "Go ahead Janie." Dad said. "I'm in remission!" I said. My mom's eyes grew wide and her jaw dropped. "I knew you would do it!" She said as she hugged me. "So Bowie movie night it is." Dad said. We all chuckled.
*Nighttime*
Janie's POV: Bowie movie night consists of four main things:
1. The movie, obviously. It's usually action, comedy, or action-comedy.
2. The food. We always make ourselves a bowl of popcorn, but along with that we have a lot of junk food. Candy, soda, chips, we sometimes order pizza!
3. Onesies. I don't care how old my parents or myself are we are gonna wear onesies! I have a Pikachu one, my mom has a unicorn one, and my dad has a bear one, which he looks hilarious in.
4. The fort. We push the couches close together, grab a bunch of pillows and blankets, and assemble a fort. We usually fall asleep in the fort.
Now that I'm cyber schooled, we do this a lot more than when I attended public school. I always get excited about it...
