*I was too lazy to crop the above pic, don't judge! ~Jess*
Janie's POV: It's been a month since dad's passing. I'm still distraught over it. Cutting's slowing down again. I attempted suicide again, but mom found me and stopped me. I postponed the tour until April. I did one show the day after his passing, basically as a tribute. It was difficult. I had no costumes for this show, but still had the dancing numbers in. I just had an "Aladdin Sane" bolt on my face and a Bowie shirt. Even though I played my normal set list, I played some of his songs, as well as "Hello", and cried. I got my first tattoo last week. My dad's logo on my upper right arm. I plan on either getting a tattoo of some of his lyrics or maybe the last thing he said to me, that way he'll always be with me. The Super Bowl performance went over well, except I almost fell during "Rhythm Nation"! I pulled it off though. I had the Lightning bolt painted on my face along with my normal "Rhythm Nation" costume. I got to meet and talk to Lady Gaga there too, and she said she changed her performance at the Grammys tonight to a tribute to my dad. I can't wait to see it. I absolutely love her work. I was woken up by Remi's squeaking. I forgot to mention that I have a pet otter named Remi. He is exactly like a dog, and he's so freaking adorable. I opened my eyes and he was on my chest, squeaking loud as hell. He usually does this on a day where I have something important. I grabbed him and got up. I went downstairs and he followed me, as usual. My heart still sinks every morning when I don't see dad sitting in his usual spot on the couch. I held my tears back again. I walked out to the kitchen and got my usual cup of coffee. I made myself a pop tart. I sat down on the couch and turned on the tv. My mom walked into the room. "Hey darling." She said. "Hey." I said. "Are you ready for tonight?" She asked. "I guess." I said. She handed me a sketch pad. "What's this?" I asked. "Your father did this when he was diagnosed." She said. I opened it up and the first page had a letter to me on it. I continued flipping pages and saw notes and drawings. "He wanted you to know how much he loved you." She said. I started crying. My mom hugged me. I pulled away, wiping my tears. "Well, you better get ready for your hair and makeup appointment." She said. I got up and got changed.
*Later that night*
Janie's POV: I got a gorgeous red, one sleeved, sparkly dress for tonight. I sat in my seat and waited as they announced nominees for "best rock single". I was up with some pretty good acts. Suddenly, I heard my name. I was shocked. "Hello" got a Grammy. I got up and have an emotional speech. I credited my father for helping me, and thanked everyone who has been saying kind words about him.
*Later*
Janie's POV: I finished "Hello" and ran to the side of the stage. A small tribute played for my dad as I changed into my "Under Pressure" costume. I'm singing both parts tonight. I ran out and started singing. A spotlight was angled next to me, as if my dad was still here. The song was almost over, and Devan came up next to me. I wrapped my arm around him. As I finished, he showed me underneath his guitar. I started laughing. "Prom?" was written on it! "Well?!" He asked. "Yeah." I said as I nodded. I hugged him. He pulled away and showed the audiences, causing them to go wild.
*Later*
Janie's POV: I won 8 Grammys. I won all 8 Grammys I was nominated for. I tied Michael Jackson's record. As we posed for picture post show, I almost kept dropping them. I then have two to mom, two to Devan, and I held the other four. Holy crap. I didn't even expect one. I did it...
