The warm smell of peppermint mocha brings me out of my daydreams.

"Earth to Caia," Ky sung, waving his hand in front of my eyes, "We're here."

"Oh sorry," I mumbled still somewhat dazed.

"It's fine," Ky shook his head, and opened the door for me. We walk into Starbucks, assaulting my nose with a barrage of scents and aromas. Cinnamon buns, blueberry scones, and rich chocolate chip muffins. A sigh of longing escaped my lips as I realized I could never have any of this. Treats are only for the skinny people, and I will be one of them soon. I just have to stay strong until then. As I'm thinking this, I get a text from Amaya.

-Empty is strong! Empty is invincible!

I smile at this, she always seems to know exactly when I need the encouragement most. I text back,

-Thx, u want to come over and work out tday?-

-Sure what time?- I pause, It's 4:00 now, so. . .

-in 30 minutes?-

-K, I'll be there, stay strong luv-

-U too-

Ky looks up at me, "Who're you texting?"

"Amaya," I reply, "She wanted to come over later."

"Okay," he murmurs, satisfied, "Shall we order?"

I giggle, "We shall."

I get black coffee, he gets a caramel latte. We sit at a table sipping our drinks in silence. It's a comfortable silence, and I slip my hand into his and look up. His kaleidoscope eyes are fixed on me. I get lost in the blue, green, and flecks of purple that dance in his irises. The coffee fills me with warmth and energy, and sharpens my hunger. The chill coursing through me heightens the thrill of being with him. I honestly can't believe how someone as perfect as him could love someone as broken as me. I'm at a lost for words, I can't describe how much I love him with those. An idea flickers into my mind and I get out my phone, plugging in my earbuds. I hand one to him and keep one for myself. I start the song, and as it gets to the chorus I sing along for him

-Heroine my sweetest sin

I can't seem to get enough

Pull me under, wake me up

Feel the rush

Morphine lover make me numb

Make it so I can't get up

Paper thin 'til you sink in

Could you be my heroine?-

He tugs my hand and pulls me up, dragging me out into the parking lot. He takes my other hand and we dance. When the song finishes I smile,

"Hey crazy, You've got something right. . .there," I reach up to stroke his lips

"Would you like to get it for me?" he whispers

"I most certainly would"
