*NEWTS POV*
"Hey." Teresa said as she held Thomas' head in her lap. Ann was finally awake but Thomas wasn't yet. all three of them were in the pit, me, Chuck, Minho were all looking in. Then Thomas finally woke up groaning a little.
"Are you okay?" Teresa asked
"What the hell were you thinking? especially you Ann!" said Chuck
"What happened?" Thomas asked
"Gally's taken control." said Ann
"He said we had a choice. Either join him...or get banished at sundown with you." i told
"And the others agreed to that?" he asked
"Gally has everyone convinced that you're the reason all this has happened." said Teresa
"Well, he's been right so far."
"What are you talking about Thomas?" asked Minho
"This place... it's not what we thought it was. It's not a prison, it's a test. it all started when we were kids. They would give us these challenges. They were experimenting on us. And then people started disappearing. Every month, one after the other, like clockwork-" spoke Thomas
"They were sending them up into the maze." i spoke
"Yeah, but not all of us." said Ann
"What do you mean?" Minho asked
"Guys, I'm one of them. The people who put you here, I worked with them. With Teresa AND Thomas." Ann said
"But I watched you guys for years. The entire time you have been here...I was on the other side of it." said Thomas
"Why would they send us up if we were with them?" she asked
"It doesn't matter." Ann said
"She's right. It doesn't matter. Any of it. Because the people we were before the maze don't even exist anymore. These Creators took care of that. But what does matter is who we are now, and what we do... right now." i said looking at Ann and then at Thomas "You went into the maze and you found a way out."
"Yeah, but if I hadn't, Alby would still be alive." he said
"Maybe. But I know that if he were here, he would be telling you the exact same thing. Pick your ass up and finish what you started. Because if we do nothing... then that means Alby died for nothing, and I can't have that." i said
"Okay-" Thomas started
"Okay, but we gotta get through Gally first." said Ann
It all felt wrong, i couldn't believe i was allowing Gally to banish Ann, along with Teresa and Thomas. but she said she was fine with it, that it was all part of the plan. But it didn't feel right to me. Ann and Teresa were being held with their hands behind their backs. Thomas was thrown on the ground in front of the doors.
"Gally... It doesn't feel right, man." said Fry
"Yeah, what if Thomas is right? Maybe he can lead us home." Jeff said
"We are home. Okay? I don't wanna have to cross any more names off that wall." Gally spoke
"You really think banishing us is gonna solve anything?" Ann said
"No. But this isn't a banishing. It's an offering." he replied
"Wait! what?" Ann looked terrified as the guys tied her hands to a pole as well as Teresa's. Ann looked so innocent with her hands tied above her head... Newt stop now's not the time, focus on escaping first.
"Gally, what are you doing?" Teresa asked
"You really think I'm gonna let Thomas back into the maze after what he has done? Look around you! Look at our Glade! This is the only way. And when the Grievers get what they came here for... everything goes back to the way it was."
"Are you listening to this? Why are you all just standing there? He's crazy!" Ann yelled
"You shut up." Gally shouted pointing a a stern finger at her.
"If you stay here, the Grievers are going to come back. They're gonna come back, and they're gonna keep coming back until you're all dead!" said Teresa
"Shut up! Tie him up!" he said pointing to Thomas. But the boys didn't want to, i guess they decided not to side with Gally. I looked at Minho and he nodded slightly "Do you hear me? I said tie him up!" Thomase then shot up and took the two down, and grabbed a stick. i knocked one boy out, and then cut Ann down. Fry got Teresa and we stood facing away from the doors and at the other gladers.
"You're full of surprises, aren't you?" said Gally
"You don't have to come with us, but we are leaving. Anyone else who wants to come, now is your last chance." Thomas spoke
"Don't listen to him, he's just trying to scare you."
"No, I'm not trying to scare you. You're already scared. I'm scared. But I'd rather risk my life out there
than spending the rest of it in here. We don't belong here. This place isn't our home. We were put here. We were trapped here. At least, out there we have a choice. We can make it out of here. I know that. I'm sorry. Gally, it's over. Just come with us." Thomas told
"Good luck against the Grievers." Gally said turning and walking away. I looked at Ann, who looked at me out of the corner of her eye, and then took off into the maze with the others. I followed.
we see each other, but i really miss her. Miss her touch, her soft skin, her laugh. she hadn't laughed since she left me. It breaks my heart to see her so depressed. I want so badly to make it up to her. Maybe when all of this is over, we can be together again. I hope.
