It was Sam, Dean, Cas, and I against the world. It's been this way since Cas found me that day. The day I lost everything I knew, and everything I loved. The world stopped that day and I couldn't imagine how possibly people could be still living because I was surely dead. My heart was still pumping, I was still breathing, but I wasn't alive. I wasn't there. Everything went numb that day and the days after that. I felt like a dead girl walking, to be honest. I knew deep down that I shouldn't be alive and it killed me to think that. The day Cas showed up could've been the day I would've ended it all. But he told me everything would be okay- which took me a while to bring to mind- and took me to my new family and life. Sam and Dean Winchester. They took me in and I couldn't thank them enough for it. I was alive again. It was us against the world- or demons, ghosts, vampires, werewolves, and other supernatural fantasies. We were what they called "hunters"- a great name if you want to fool the rest of society. We didn't hunt bears, or deer, or other fuzzy creatures. We hunted the evil monsters under your bed that haunted you when you were a kid. Sure, those who were blind from our lifestyle called us "maniacs" and "psychopaths" and my personal favorite, "mentally deranged nut cases", but we were the heroes of many families who were hunted. However, life for us wasn't holding hands and killing evil things with a smile on our faces and a skip in our step. We fought, constantly. But I loved them with everything I had. Even though my new life was especially downright strange and dangerous, it kept me here.

The room was dark with only my flashlight lighting the way. I had my gun in my hand and a knife in my pocket and an extra in my boot. I was in my "hunter" mode, ready for anything to spring out and attack me. My feet slowly carried me across the room, quickly but cautiously looking in every room I passed for a sign of life- or something like it. I tried to be as quiet as possible so I could get the "element of surprise" and have an advantage.

I was searching the run-down compartment store for a good fifteen minutes. If this thing didn't turn up soon, I was going to get bored and probably do something stupid. The flashlight guided the way as I walked down the long-ass hallway.
"I swear to God, if something doesn't happen soon..." I whispered to myself. I was getting a headache from walking around this godforsaken establishment for what seemed like an hour.
Then, my flashlight beamed on something red and my heart jumped with excitement. "Hell yeah," I whispered again as I squatted down to the red puddle in front of me. I looked at it closer to find it was dry blood. "Dammit." The blood had to be days, weeks, months, or even years old. I groaned to myself as I stood back up. Before I even got to my feet, I heard a door creak. Instantly, I turned and pointed my gun and flashlight in the direction of the sound. I stood for a moment contemplating if it was the real deal or not. The flashlight beamed on the door that I assumed was the suspect of the creaking. Suddenly, a rat ran out from behind the door and scurried away. I let out a breath and lowed my gun. "Little jerk got me excited for his damn catwalk. Or should I say... ratwalk." I grinned to myself, "God, I'm hilarious." That's when I felt someone, or something, in the room with me. My body froze and I could tell it was behind me. Without turning my head, I turned my eyes to the wall beside me. I gripped my pistol tight in my hand and let out a breath. When I was ready, I quickly turned around and pointed my gun to the figure. The flashlight shone on it.

"Boo."

"Dammit Dean! I almost shot you!"

The man that stood in front of me was my best friend, Dean Winchester; a very attractive guy, but a huge dumbass. He chuckled to himself as I let out a breath, disappointed that he wasn't the werewolf we were hunting.

"Did I scare you?" he smiled.

"Don't you ever do that again!" I couldn't help but smile with him. His smile lit up the dark room we were in.
