Chapter 14: Intended to Cripple

Lianne's POV:

(Author: I bet you didn't expect her. Hahahaha)

Okay. Andaming tumatakbo sa utak ko ngayon.

Si Carlo kasi eh. Napakakulit. -___-

He's forcing me to wear the necklace he gave me today. Sabi ko naman, next time na. Pero napakapersistent nya... Haaayy....

If you're wondering kung bakit ako binigyan ng ugok na to, birthday ko kasi ngayon.

Hindi alam ng mga kaibigan namin na birthday ko ngayon. Si Carlo lang ang nasabihan ko nito.

And I must admit. I think I'm falling for him. I promised myself that I won't love again, but what's this? *sigh*

We became so close like we're inseparable.

Kaya nagagawa nya akong kulitin ng ganito. Masungit ako, pero naging kaibigan ko sya at patin na rin sina Nicole.

I still can't believe that I had a real friend.

Mga plastik kasi mga tao dito. Lalapit lang sakin kapag may kailangan. I hate those fakes.

Flashback

I spent my high school life in BenU. Hindi naman ako masyado kilala at tahimik lang ako. I'm usually sitting in one corner reading books.

One day, may lumapit sakin.

Amira: LIANNE!!

Woah... Grabe naman makasigaw. ?_?

Amira: Hi, Lianne. :)

Ako: Do I know you?

(Author: Masungit po sya nung high school. Haha.)

Amira: I just wanna say hi. :)

Ako: Well, you've said hi. You can leave now.

Amira: No need to be grumpy at me. Lagi kang mag-isa eh. I just wanna be friends.

When Amira asked me this, I was shocked. Ako na kilalang nerd na masungit, lalapitan ng isang maganda at sikat na babae sa school para maging kaibigan? O__O

We became friends, because I thought, "It wouldn't hurt to have at least one friend before I leave high school."

But I was wrong to pick her as my friend. Isa syang plastik na tao.

Amira: Bee, pahelp naman sa assignments ko oh.

Ako: Sige, Bee. Nga pala, invite sana kita. :)

Amira: Saan?

Ako: Sa math quiz bee namin bukas. Nood ka naman oh.

Amira: Uhm... Pasensya ka na, Bee. Busy ako tomorrow. May practice ako sa dance troupe eh.

Ako: Ah ganun ba? Sige ok lang. Wish me luck na lang, Bee. :)

What a liar.

The next day, before the quiz bee.

Nakita ko sya na kasama iba nyang kaibigan. At palabas sila ng campus. Akala ko ba may practice sya?

Sinundan ko muna sila saglit. Narinig ko usapan nila. At yung usapan na yon made me end my friendship with her.

Girl 1: Hey, Amira. Bakit ka nakikisama sa nerd na yun?

Girl 2: Yeah, she's not even pretty. Dapat iwasan mo sya.

Amira: Girls, calm down. She's not my friend. I'm only using her para tumaas grades ko. Dad told me that he would ground me if mababa pa rin grades ko.

From then on, I decided to have no friends. But then, I spoke to soon. Then came along these idiots...

End of Flashback

Carlo: Hey Lianne. Tulala ka na naman.

Ako: Ha? Ano sinasabi mo?

Carlo: Ang sabi ko isuot mo na yang bracelet.

Ako: Oo na nga eh. Makulit ka pa sa mommy ko

Carlo: Good. Haha...

After ko isuot, umalis na kami sa gym. Nagpractice pa kasi sya. Halos ako lang ang laging nakakasama nya. Medyo malapit lang kasi mga bahay namin. Hinahatid nya ko lagi.

Malapit na kami sa kotse nya, nang biglang...

*Bang!*

May nagpaputok ng baril!

Carlo: Dapa!

Dumapa naman agad ako.

I fell and saw Carlo's face. He's in pain.

Then I saw his leg. He received a shot in his right leg.

I was having a panic attack. Anong gagawin ko?

I heard 4 more shots. Pero, nakita ko ang assailant bago sya makaalis sakay ng motor.

He's wearing a helmet, but he has one thing na maaalala ko if ever makita ko sya. A blue dragon tattoo in his left arm.

Carlo: Argh! My leg!

I went back to Carlo. Nung makita ko binti nya, nagulat ako.

Grabe ang tama nya!

I helped him inside his car. Nagdrive ako at dinala ko sya sa hospital.

He was rushed to the ER. I waited for the doctor.

An hour later

The doctor came out and told me his condition.

Doctor: Ma'am, mukhang hindi sya makakalakad as of now. Masama yung tama nya, and it will take him so much therapy bago pa sya makalakad.

Ako: Sige po. Thanks, Doc.

Ininform ko na parents nya and they're on their way here.

Carlo, please be okay.

Someone shot our sporty idiot!

Who could it be?
