Chapter 22

(Friend or Foe?)

“How did she escape you?!” Aphrodite snapped angrily at the Gorgon woman. “NO one escapes your power! It isn’t a possibility!”

“It is if they are more than half god,” Enyo said making her presence known. The Goddess of Destruction was more than a little amused to see Aphrodite, Medusa, and Echidna with their mouths agape.

“You lead her here!” Medusa yelled at The Goddess of Love.

“Actually I followed the little Halfling,” The dark haired goddess said gesturing to where Mauve was outside in the back. “Relax I’m not going to tell Ares where you are.”

“You’re not?” Echidna asked with suspicious eyes.

“Nope,” Enyo replied. “The last thing I want is a goody two shoes up on Olympus taking my fun away. If Ares stops instigating things how life will get very dull,” She said and sad down in a dark green chair. “So who do you want to get rid of?”

“Get rid of?” Medusa inquired.

“Zeus and the others are already suspicious you’re involved,” Enyo said twirling a piece of her wavy black hair within her fingers. “In fact consider yourself already convicted. The only thing they don’t have is proof.” With an arrogant smile she added, “They think I’m trying to find Aphrodite and that I’m going to help them by pretending to be on your side. Too bad for them it’s the other way around.”

“You said something about more than half god,” Echidna said remembering the woman’s words.

“Yes.” Smiling amused she looked at Aphrodite. “It seems you and Persephone aren’t the only ones little Adonis was playing with.”

“What are you talking about?” Aphrodite said becoming annoyed by the other goddess’ know it all attitude.

“Hestia had a daughter by Adonis.” Enyo smirked hearing more than one surprised gasp and seeing the Goddess of Love get hate in her eyes. Turning her gaze to Medusa she added, “Alex was injured as a child. Hestia saved her by giving the girl her blood making her…”

“A demigoddess,” Aphrodite growled.

“And just over half god,” Enyo informed them. “You can kill her but not turn her stone.”

“Then we kill her,” Aphrodite said without remorse.

“So where’s her little friend Doug?” Enyo inquired. “Have you already killed him? Or is he around for bait?”

**

Doug was more than a little scared of what would happen to him as he looked around the stone room. Luckily the couple of times he was sure he’d be raped had ended when a complication to Medusa’s plan had arisen. The last thing he wanted was to be raped by a Harpy let alone a psycho snake creature.

“Well, well.” Doug looked over by the stairs to see a woman with long black wavy hair enter the room. The top of her hair was pulled back but the rest was loose. “Handsom for a mortal,” Enyo commented.

“Who are you?” He asked and swallowed uneasily.

She walked down the length of the table letting her hand slide down his body; causing a feeling of pleasure to go through Alex’s friend. “I’m Enyo, Goddess of Destruction.”

“Does that mean you’re on Ares side and therefore Alex’s?” He asked hopeful.

“Many times I’m on Ares side but not in this,” She replied. “Not where your friend is concerned. No your friend will ruin my fun and I don’t like that,” The goddess said as she began walking around the bottom of the table he was strapped to and then up the other side. “I like destruction and watching people suffer.”
