Alex sat on a stone bench and watched as Nike and Eros headed out together for a night flight. A smile crossed her face. Nike wasn't ready to submit to The God of Erotic Love but she was slowly lowering her guard. The redhead had seen them exchange a few kisses and was pleased to see things going better between them. Who would've thought it would take Eros nearly dying to get Nike to open up to him?

"I do like it when couples cooperate," Cupid commented walking up and sitting down on the bench next to her. "It makes things a lot easier."

Alex smiled and looked over at him. "Are you saying Nike was being difficult?" She asked openly teasing him.

"You and Nike were both giving me a headache!" Cupid replied not hiding he'd been annoyed. Alex didn't reply and simply looked away. But there was no need to reply. Even she knew she hadn't made Cupid's job easy on him.

"What about Liam?" Alex asked suddenly feeling disappointed. "Will he find someone else?" she asked looking back The God of Romantic Love.

"I don't know yet," he replied honestly. "There is nothing to prevent it however. I would expect him to find a new match but I cannot say when that will be. Patty hurt him even more than he wants you to know; though I suspect you already know that." Alex nodded and looked away. "If I see signs of another match I will do everything I can to help him."

"Even if somehow something happens to me?" the redhead asked. Cupid looked at her surprised. "I'm not stupid Cupid. Epiales is going to want vengeance for what I did to him. Medusa will probably feel more threatened now and more desperate. They are both going to be out for blood."

"We will do everything possible to protect you," Cupid assured the concerned woman.

"I know. I don't doubt for a minute that all of you would do what you could to protect me," Alex assured him. "But we both know things can happen. Tanith is dead and Hestia never meant for it to happen. Aphrodite lost Adonis. Demeter lost her daughter to Hades. Things can happen in a split second. I want you to promise me that whether I am here or gone that you'll help Liam; Liam and Doug."

"You have my word," Cupid assured her.

"Thank you." Cupid nodded and they turned their eyes back to Nike and Eros.

"What about Jimmy?" Cupid asked. Alex looked at him a little surprised. "Should I help Jimmy as well?"

"I'd say yes but I'm not sure there is help for Jimmy," Alex replied. "If you haven't noticed he kind of...bumbles through his existence at times. If he were a God he'd be the God of Comedy." Cupid laughed before he could stop himself and nodded. "Don't get me wrong. I love Jimmy. He's a great guy and a wonderful friend. I would certainly question almost all of what he says but beyond that...I wouldn't want him any other way."

"Ahhhhhh!" Cupid and Alex watched as Jimmy went racing past them with Gann in hot pursuit. "Get this crazy mutt away from me!" he exclaimed. Alex and Cupid looked at each other and then to Jimmy and then to Ares faithful dog. Jimmy ran around a table and Gann chased him. "Why won't he go away?!" Jimmy explained. At first Alex and Cupid were both confused before it occurred to both of them why Jimmy was being chased by Ares dog.

"I guess I should save him," Alex said getting up. "I'm pretty sure it's my turn." The red head walked over quickly approaching the table. "Gann, sit," she told him. Gann let out a whimper but did as she instructed.

"Thank god!" Jimmy said showing his exhaustion. "Why is he chasing me?!" he demanded.

Alex walked over and grabbed his left hand. "Because you're holding his bone," she informed him opening his other hand and taking the bone from him. "Here you are Gann," she said and offered it to him. Gann let out a happy bark and taking the offered bone headed off on his own. Alex watched the dog leave and then turned her attention on Jimmy. "How long have you had that bone in your hand?"
