Marley climbs into the passenger side of her truck and I close the door behind her, walking around the front to the driver side. She is still wearing my shirt from earlier, and I can't help but blush a little thinking about it. A way to break in the new mattress, I chuckle to myself starting up the engine. Marley begged me to take her to McDonald's and I can't exactly tell her no when she pouts her lip. Plus, I could go for a Big Mac.
When we get onto the main road from the subdivision, I place my hand on her thigh. Her cheeks turn a light pink, and she places her hand over mine. I hum along to the country song that plays on the radio, and briefly take my hand away to turn into the McDonald's drive thru. I give the lady over the intercom our order and we drive up to the window to pay and receive our meals and drinks.
I turn the car onto the main road and drive down to a park, I get out and help Marley out. We walk to a picnic table and set the food and drinks down and she sits across from me. We eat our food and listen to the kids playing.
"So how do you feel about kids," I nearly choke on my food as she speaks, "like do you want any kids or..?" I take a sip of my drink.
"Eh, I'm not actually sure? Kinda scared to have a spawn of mine." I take a bite and look out at the lake behind her.
"Oh, I was just wondering because we never talked about stuff like that," she finishes her meal before me. "I'd probably like one kid, maybe two." I nod my head.
"Yeah one is probably enough for me." I put our trash in the bag and toss it in the bin beside the table. Marley and I stand at the same time and I take her hand leading her down to the walking trail beside the lake.
"You know I really like you Marley," I hold her hand tighter. "I don't think I'll ever find another girl like you." I see her blush in the corner of my eye.
