Lust or Love? (Geoff and Gavin a.u.)

Chapter 30

*Geoff POV*

We left the hospital late this afternoon, and Marley hasn't made any eye contact, or any conversation with me since we found out the news. She called her dad and told him that we would be arriving late tonight, early tomorrow morning. When we got to the house she went to her room and laid in bed. Her packed suitcase for the trip beside her.

"Marley," I stood in the doorway, leaning against the frame. "Please talk to me." She looked towards me, her eyes red from crying. I walk in and kneel in front of her, "we are doing this together Marley. I know I am not ready for a child, but I want to do this with you." I placed my hand on her cheek and wiped a tear that slipped from the corner of her eye. Kissing her forehead, I grabbed her bag and her hand and helped her up and grabbed my bag from the hallway and we left the house, locking the door on the way out.

I put the bags in the backseat of Marley's truck, that she insisted we drive. Helping her into the passenger seat and placing my hand on her lower abdomen kissing her briefly before closing the door. I walk around to the drivers side and get in, starting the car. Marley held her pillow against the window and laid her head down, falling asleep. My heart flutters, I can gt used to this. 

I've never considered marriage, none the less a kid; but with her, I want everything. It's crazy how one person can do that. One person can change how your life ends up, what road you take. They can change your perspective and mind set. I'd be lying if I said marriage never crossed my mind when I met her. All I can really think about is living the rest of my life with her. Now we have a kid on the way, and I want our kid to have the best future available.

Finally, after a million bathroom, food, and stretch breaks, we reached her dads house. Of course it was later than we thought it would be, but her dad was happy to see us. We decided in the car that right now isn't the best time to tell her dad about the pregnancy, we want to wait until we have heard the heartbeat and have a picture.  After I brought our bags inside, Marley went to lay in bed. I found this a perfect opportunity to have a one on one talk with her father. He carries two colas to the table and sits across from me. A smile sits on his face, I see a lot of resemblance between Marley and him. 

"So what did you want to talk about, Geoff?" He pops open the can of his soda, my heart starts to beat fast. I am so nervous to ask him for his daughters hand in marriage. 

"Uh," I lick my lips, "I was just wondering what you'd think about me asking Marley to marry me?" I rub my palms against my blue jeans. He looks at me with daggers in his eyes, making sweat bead on my forehead, then his face softens into a slight chuckle. Is that a good chuckle or bad chuckle? 

"I would love to have you as a son in law, Geoff!" He exclaims, then quickly covers his mouth forgetting his daughter is upstairs. "I've been waiting for this since I met you, honestly. I think you are a perfect man for my daughter." He stands up and pulls me into a hug; I smile at him and he pats my back. "Have you gotten the ring yet? Because I wanna see!"

"Not yet no," the joy in his eyes fade, "I just wanted your permission first, plus I have no idea her ring size or what she likes," I push my hair back with my fingers. He pulls out his wallet and hands me a card.

"Here, go to this place, I know the manager. I went to her when I was picking out a ring for Nikki, Marley's mom," he smiles. "I will tell Marley that you just went out to buy a pizza," he hands me a twenty dollar bill. I give him a quick hug before leaving.

A/N: Sorry for this horribly written short chapter, I will fix it one day. And super super sorry this is like, what feels like, years late. I've been working, I stay at my sisters house during the week and including the weekends sometimes. i keep leaving my laptop at my house but I finally brought it here, and on the days I have off, since I am never home, I spend that time with my family and my dogs. I am really really trying to step up and update, hopefully expect an update either tonight or tomorrow, I promise.
