Lust or Love? (Geoff and Gavin a.u.)

Chapter 27

*Gavin POV*

"So this is the 'Mysterious Marley' you are crazy about, Geoff," Ryan's voice makes my attention snap to the door. Marley stands in the doorway and my heart beats faster when her eyes connect with mine. Ryan steps towards her and takes her hand, shaking it furiously. All the lads gather around her and I stay at my desk, watching her from a distance.

After a couple games, editing, and a few glances at Marley, it's lunch time and I get to leave early today. I walk over to the couch that Marley is sitting at, her laptop on her lap and she bites her bottom lip in concentration. I think she was saying something about a paper due tomorrow already and how she hasn't even started her classes.

"Hey, Marls, want me to take you home since Geoff won't be off 'till 'round seven?" She nods her head and closes her laptop putting it in her bag. I stand at the door while she kisses Geoff. My heart beats in a mixture of sadness and anger. She skips over to me and follows me to my car, I don't realize my grip tightens on the key fob until I hit the panic button and the car alarm blares throughout the parking lot.

"Gavin! What did you do?" Marley covers her ears and laughs at me as I try to turn the alarm off. I finally get it to stop and we both get in the car and head home.

"What's wrong?" Marley puts her hand on my elbow and my skin feels like it's on fire. Why does she do this to me? Why does she make me feel this way? I feel so guilty lying to Meg and Marley. I want my best friend to be happy but it feels so wrong to see him with her. I want to be with her. Scratch that, I need to be with her.

"What?" Marley looks at me confused as I park the car in the drive way. My stomach drops, my heart is in my throat. Did I say that out loud?

I step out the car and hurry inside, but Marley grabs my wrist and stops me. I turn away from the door and look at her.

"I'm so sorry," I grab her face and smash my lips to hers. My heart beat is faster, she grabs on to the sides of my shirt and pulls me closer. I fumble with the door knob and we stumble inside only breaking the kiss for breaths. I fall on the couch and she falls down on me. My brain starts to get fuzzy as my blood is rushing through my body and I pick her up and set her down next to me.

"I can't do this to Geoff," I mumble rubbing my face with my hands. "F*** I can't do this to Geoff," I run to my room and lock the door. I hear Marley's steps come to the door and I ignore her knocks even though I desperately want her to come inside.
