Chapter 4:
Melody's P.O.V.
I awoke on a coarse blue carpeted floor. Classy.
I looked up to see a comfortable looking bed with blankets and too many pillows. I narrowed my eyes at the bed. I sat up and made my way towards the bed, on my knees. Sitting on the cream duvet of the bed were a pair of slightly ripped dark blue jeans and a navy hoodie, I recognized them as my own clothes and figured Gray must have taken them for me.
I quickly changed clothes and decided that I wasn't waiting for someone to eventually remember me being here, and casually walked out of the room. Perhaps it wasn't my greatest plan ever; to walk unprotected in a, by the looks of the room I was just in, posh mansion full of maniac kidnappers. But oh well. Too late now.
I navigated down fancy, red carpeted stairs and spotted a sofa beside two giant double doors. I proceeded towards the sofa, my feet almost sinking into the overly soft carpet with each slow step I was taking.
Throwing myself onto the sofa and letting myself sink into its cushiony fabric was something I could very well get used to, but living with people that could possibly be superhuman? That could take a while to adjust to, but then again I didn't plan to live with kidnappers. I studied the ceiling, paying attention to the intricate designs and patterns carved into it. A very large, chandelier hung from the ceiling. Each crystal looked to have cost a fortune and as the light from the bulbs hit off each crystal, a rainbow colour projected onto the walls around it. It was amusing to stare at.
Suddenly the chandelier began to shake violently and I gripped the arm of the sofa. The double doors burst open and one of them hung there, hanging off its hinge. A rather pissed off looking man stormed out of the room. He had very pale skin, raging red eyes and dark brown hair that reached half way down his neck and appeared to be styled with hairspray.
He grabbed a glass vase filled with flowers from a table beside the door and violently threw it into the room he had just stormed out of. He then started to shout in a language I did not know. Was it Italian? Spanish perhaps? I cringed into the seat a little, clenching my teeth and holding my breath. He then stamped up the stairs like a child having a major tantrum. He put his fist through a wall at the top of the stairs and disappeared down the hall, marching angrily. A door slammed shut and the chandelier shook again.
I let out a sigh of relief. How I wasn't spotted I will never know, I mean come on, I was sitting right beside the room he came out of.
A tired looking Gray emerged from the room, rubbing his temples.
"So...you're one of them, ay?"
He looked at me curiously, "Mhm. I'm surprised you're not having a spaz attack, screaming and threatening to throw garlic at me."
I smiled at the thought. "Well you are my brother, no matter what you are or what you've done" I told him awkwardly. He beamed at me but that look was soon replaced by a look of horror and shock.
"You were supposed to stay in your room!" He exploded.
I shrugged "Curiosity got the best of me."
"Well curiosity killed the cat" He spat back. "You have to start being careful though. Not every vampire wants to be your friend. Some would like to make you their afternoon tea. Especially at parties."
I was about to laugh and then it dawned on me. "Vampire?"
He pursed his lips "I thought you just figured that out a second ago..."
"No. We came to the conclusion that you're a maniac kidnapper." I said quickly, my heart rate increased to what felt like 100 beats a second and my stomach began doing flips.
