Chapter 7:
Matt's P.O.V.
Sprinting through the garden, heading back to the mansion trying to get any help I could, my stomach actually felt sick. I wasn't sure what had happened to Melody but I knew she was in extreme danger.
I shoved open the doors to the hall where everyone was still drinking their drinks and chatting. Everyone instantly stopped what they were doing and stared in my direction with questioning eyes. The music that had been playing in the background came to an abrupt halt. I desperately scanned through the crowd looking for Raven or Angel and when I found them they had puzzled looks on their faces. I spoke only four words; "Somethings happened to Melody."
The 3 of us; Raven, Angel and myself hastily searched through the gardens, leaving our guests to cater to themselves.
My senses jump started as the unmistakable scent of sweet, tempting blood hit me like a kick in the teeth. My feet rushed me to a scene I would never forget.
A limp, lifeless body that I quickly recognised as Melody lay doubled over on the cold ground. My eyes drifted away from her to the lower than scum, piece of shit that did this to her.
His face I didn't recognise but that didn't matter because by the time I would be done beating the crap out of him, his face would be un-recognisable to those who did know him.
"Ah don't look so glum, the bitch probably deserved death." A menacing smile was plastered to his uncaring face. Anger boiled up within me, like a volcano about to erupt. He nudged her back with his foot like she were a dead animal and that volcano erupted.
Red seemed to blur my vision, something I had never experienced before, and I pounced forwards with an intention to kill. He barely dodged and his smile widened.
"Oh! So that is how you want to play" His said mockingly.
"You won't leave here alive" I hissed hatefully.
He snickered but I had the last laugh as he was dragged backwards, a surprised growl escaping his throat. Raven and Angel appeared fangs bared and holding stakes of wood. They had grabbed him by his arms and pushed his struggling body up against a wall.
"Matthew, take Melody and get help. She doesn't have much time." Raven gazed down at her sadly.
I nodded and carefully scooped her up into my arms. Her chest slowly rose and fell. I winced at the sight and smell of her blood. I could already feel it on my fingers, my mouth watered a little. I speed walked towards the house, I would have run but I couldn't risk damaging her delicate body anymore. An ear piercing scream could be heard from behind but I didn't dare look back.
Glancing down at her my eyes attempted to release traitor tears, but I wouldn't allow it. Her eyes were barely opened but I couldn't tell if she was conscious or not.
"Melody..." I breathed.
We approached a heart broken Gray. Tears like waterfalls fell down his face. His eyes widened and he grabbed Melody's body away from me and I flinched as he was too rough with her and a pained cry left her mouth. "Careful." I whispered.
He glared at me "Careful!? You're telling me to be careful and yet I put you in charge of my sister for one evening and look!" He shouted, his voice cracking as he projected his words at me.
It was true. It was my fault. If I had have been more careful she wouldn't be in this state. I would have been able to protect her. His words wounded me like no other words had before. It was then that I realised that I could deny these feelings no longer.
