Chapter 2 - All Things Go
Ding! A text message notification sound woke Nebbie up from her sleep. She reached over and grabbed her phone. It was 6:04 she didn't have to be up until 7 but she smiled at the tet from DeMarcus. They were dating, sort of. They met 6 months after the breakup and she told him that she wasn't really looking for a relationship. She was still in love and at any time she would leave him and he was cool with it. They kiss and have sex from time and time. He had feelings for her and she had feelings for him too. She didn't love him but she cared about him deeply.
Marcus♥: Good Morning Baby
Neb♥: Thanks Good Morning 2 you 2
Nebbie decided to go ahead and get up early. That way she can make a big breakfast and she wouldn't have to stop at any place before work. Nebbie was doing good to be 24 she had her dream job of being a marketing manager. She lived in a nice apartment with 2 bedrooms, and 1.5 bathrooms. She used the extra bedroom as an office/beauty room. She drove a red convertible Lexus. She got a little thicker than she was before but she loved herself either way. She dyed her hair midnight blue and then she cut into a long bob.
After she got done eating, she brushed her teeth and styled her hair. Then she put on some makeup nothing too heavy but enough to cover up any blemishes she had, not like she had any. Nebbie had matured she no had her innocent cotton candy scent she smelt like coconut oil and shea butter. She went into her closet and put on a light pink blouse, navy blazer, navy pencil skirt, and black heels. She grabbed her purse, Louis Vuitton Neverfull. She bought this purse 3 years ago and it was it only designer purse she needed. Before she left she went into room in her, and went into her nightstand drawer.
Damn it Nebbie! You almost made it to your drawer without it. This is the last time you're going to do it Nebbie thought as she slid the promise ring on her finger. She don't know why she kept it on she guessed it was a habit. But it was more than that. She left her apartment to get in her car. Her phone began to ring and she saw that Benjamin was calling her and she answered it.
"Hey, Best friend," Nebbie greeted.
"Hey, Nebbie cakes. How you doing?" Benjamin asked.
"Good. I miss you." Nebbie said.
"Don't start you are not going to do this, this morning," Benjamin said. Benjamin went to college in Michigan and after he came out to his parents. His father wanted nothing to do with and his mother still loved either way he was. So he decided that he should live in Michigan and Nebbie missed him deeply.
"You left me down here with all these people," Nebbie said.
"You'll be fine," Benjamin said.
"So how have you been?"
"I've been me."
"So you're not messing with nobody."
"Why you gotta know everything?"
"Please! Who is the man or woman you are with?"
"Nobody! I've just been by myself."
"Mhmmm."
"Fine! I've talking to this guy named Daniel."
"Damn Daniel!"
"Awe fuck I knew you was going to do that. That's why I didn't want to tell you." Nebbie laughed.
"Seriously, is it a serious thing?"
"Are you and DeMarcus serious?"
"You didn't even have to go there."
