Chapter 9 - 2 Minute Warning

Adonis was over Kobe's apartment. They were just chilling and doing what they do best, smoke a little weed.

"So how have you and Nebbie been?" Kobe asked.

"I ain't telling you. You like to keep secrets," Adonis said

"What are you talking about?"

"You been dating Calista and you ain't tell me. I could've been gotten back with Nebbie."

"Oh so you found about that. She wanted to keep a secret. I wanted to tell you."

"I hope you get hit by a bus."

"Hey! Let's not wish death threats."

"That was a promise not a threat."

"Whatever so since we're friends an-."

"We are not friends."

"Since we ARE friends and our girlfriends are friends. We should go on a double date."

"Where?"

"Dave and Busters we could eat and play. It'll be fun."

"Aight I'll ask Nebbie but don't think I'm still not mad at you."

"You'll get over it so how are you and Nebbie?"

"I mean we cool. We kiss each other but there is no title. I don't know how I feel about that."

"Y'all gon be together not too long. Y'all made it this far."

"I hope so. I'm just glad we are at this place. I thought I'll never see her again."

"See now look how things to turn out."

"Imma call Nebbie and ask her out." Adonis pulled out his phone and called Nebbie.

"Hey Adonis!" Nebbie greeted.

"Oh you excited to hear me," Adonis said. Nebbie was she couldn't stop thinking about him and she really wanted to see him again.

"Yeah so what is it?"

"Well Kobe wants us to double date with him and Calista?"

"Double date?"

"Well It doesn't have to be a date for us but it's just too Dave and Busters. We can all go as friends." He was nervous he shouldn't have said that.

"No I want to go with you."

"Really?"

"Yeah I want you to win me something. Well I'll pick you up this weekend at 6 if that's okay with you?"

"Ok I'll see you there, Bye."

"Bye." They both hung the phone and Kobe was staring at him. "What?"

"'I'll pick you up this weekend at 6 if that's okay with you?' Ugly ass," Kobe mocked.

"Shut the fuck up, nigga," Adonis said.

Nebbie got a text from Adonis saying that he was outside and she made her way out the door. She saw Adonis leaning on his car as usual.

"Hey Adonis!" Nebbie greeted and she gave him a hug. Adonis hugged her and his hands touched her lower back as he inhaled her scent.

"Nebbie, you ready Kobe and Calista already there," Adonis said as they stopped hugging. Nebbie crossed her arms.

"Leave it you to be the late one."

"Hey, it takes a while to get this handsome." Nebbie smiled and he opened the car door and she got inside. He went to the driver's seat and began to drive to Dave and Buster's.
