Chapter 12

 Chapter 12 - I'm Back

Adonis woke up in his bed and the first thing he noticed was Nebbie wasn't in his bed. Then he smelled bacon and got up out his bed into the kitchen to find Nebbie cooking breakfast with his T-shirt on.

"What you doing?" He asked. She looked back at him.

"What it looks like? I'm cooking," She said. Adonis came up to her and picked her and put her on the counter.

"Don't be sarcastic, Nebbie."

"I'm not being sarcastic I'm being honest. Honestly, if you got me on this counter then how am I supposed to cook."

"What you mean, cook? My meal already ready." He looked down at her.

"You're nasty, Donnie."

"I am not. I'm just doing what I am supposed to do."

"Adonis c'mon let me cook. Didn't you have enough last night?"

"But that was last night. You know I can't get enough of you, Nebula." He gave her kiss on the lips.

"I'll make a deal with you. How about you let me cook and I come over tonight after meeting up with Jessica."

"But you two always go out together."

"Well she's getting married and I'm the bridesmaid so she needs me."

"I need you too."

"Stop whining...you know I love you." Nebbie kissed him on the lips and Adonis pulled her closer to him. He kissed her on her neck. He knew how to turn Nebbie on. "Donnie..." Adonis pulled back.

"So...you gon let me eat now or you gon make me wait?" Adonis asked with his hands crossed. Nebbie turned off the stove. Adonis picked her up and took her to the bedroom as Nebbie giggled.

Nebbie was pushing for time as she met Jessica at her house. As soon as she came in, Jessica looked pretty upset.

"Why are you so late?" Jessica said.

"I was busy but I'm here now," Nebbie said as she sat next to her. Jessica rolled her eyes.

"Whatever, Nebbie. I know this isn't your wedding but I want at least some effort," Jessica said. Nebbie glared at her.

"Ok..calm down. No need to be throwing shade at me 'cause you mad. This is your wedding I can't put my life on hold because of you."

"Nebbie do you want to be apart of this or not?"

"I'm late one time and you want to jeopardize my damn role! How about I just not show next time you call me? I'm out, call me when your head is out of your ass!" Nebbie walked out of Jessica's house. She met up early with Jessica do some final wedding preparations before she had to go to work. She knew the wedding was important to Jessica but that did not give her the right to talk to Nebbie like this.

Nebbie was stressing big time. At her job, she had to come up with a marketing plan for the company and she was almost done with it. She needed it to be complete for the new year. She was pretty content with it and even though Jessica was still on her mind she wasn't going to let her stop her from making her money. Nebbie looked up to see the head of the department, Oliver, in her office.

"How may I help you?" Nebbie asked.

"How's that plan coming?" He asked.

"I'm done just doing some editing," Nebbie said.

"Great...so I just noticed that we need to add something that appeals to the eye something to get more customers."

"Ok, what do you suggest?"

"Well, we need you to meet with the graphic designer and get a new design for the company."

"New design? That's not going to take a short time. Will my deadline being extended?"

"We have the first presentation with the investors on February 20th so you have until then."

"Great...I'll sure have it done by that time."

"Ok, Nebbie thanks so much." He left the room. Nebbie sighed while putting her face in her hands. The deadline is close and the graphic designer doesn't have the design by then her career is basically over.

"Then I go to work and I basically got an impossible deadline to meet," Nebbie explained to Adonis. They were laying in his bed cuddling. Adonis listened to her rant for an hour. Even though she did over exaggerate things at times he was just glad to have her around.

"Jessica was wrong, baby. I'm sorry I made you late," Adonis said to her.

"It's okay I'm not sweating over that. Jessica is a bridezilla and I understand that. She didn't have to talk to me like that."

"Yeah, she shouldn't. You're grown and she can't be coming at you like that. And as for work well, I hope you can get it done. I know you love your job and I want you to keep it." Nebbie kissed his lips.

"I love you," Nebbie said to him.

"I love you, too."

"Nebbie, this is me, Jessica. I'm sorry for fussing at you. You're my best friend and I'm sorry for being such a bitch toward you. So I got a surprise come to the park to find out!," Jessica said to Nebbie over the phone.

"I forgive you and the next time you come at me. I will physically put my hands on you," Nebbie said. Nebbie hanged up the phone. She got in her car and drove to the park. She saw Jessica on the bench talking to someone who Nebbie couldn't see. Nebbie walked up closer. She screamed when she saw who it was.

"BENJAMIN!" Nebbie yelled as she ran up to him and hugged him.

"NEBBIE!" Benjamin yelled back. Nebbie hugged him really tight.

"It's been so long since I've seen your face," Nebbie said as she let him go.

"I know right, sis. How you been?" Benjamin asked.

"Well, Adonis and I got back together," Nebbie said.

"Okay, you got that old thang back. I'm happy for you," Benjamin said.

"He told he was going to come in early so I wanted to surprise you," Jessica said.

"Jessica told me how she was acting. I had to set her straight, ya feel me," Benjamin said. Nebbie laughed as Jessica rolled her eyes.

"Whatever, I will fight you, Benjamin," Jessica said.

"Hey If I hit you with a dictionary would it be a physical or verbal assault," Benjamin said.

"Shut the hell up!" Jessica said. Nebbie laughed.

"Some things never change," Nebbie said.
