Chapter 5 - Miss You

"I thought that things like this get better with time
But I still need you, why is that?"

Nebbie was at the mall with Calista. Nebbie was still mad at her for leaving her at the club. But Calista promised her she would buy her two pairs of shoes and she couldn't pass that deal. They were in Macy's in the shoe section.

"I'm really sorry about leaving you that night. I should've done that," Calista apologized.

"Do you know what you put me through? I had to get a ride from my ex and it was awkward," Nebbie said.

"I'm sorry but I promise it won't happen to go again. The guy didn't have his car so I offered mine but that's no excuse," Calista said.

"Wait a minute! So the guy didn't have a car. You never go with dudes that don't have cars. So tell me the truth."

"I did."

"Calista how long have I known you? Did you know that boy?" Calista took a deep breath.

"I've been lying to you."

"What do you mean?" Nebbie thought of the worst like she had a sickness or something.

"I'm in a relationship with...a guy. This guy just so happens to be your ex's friend. We thought it would be a great idea to get you guys to talk. By guy I mean Kobe." Nebbie was silent. She didn't know if she felt betrayed or proud of her friend for getting her to come face to face with her problems.

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"Because I didn't want you to be upset with me. I love Kobe and we've been together for over a year. I just didn't want to bother you with the fact that Kobe was just too close to Adonis. We kept it on the down low nobody knew except our parents. I wanted to tell you but I didn't know how you would feel. I'm sorry."

"It's okay. I understand. But I never want you to have to feel like you have to hide from me. I also didn't like your little plan you had either."

"Kobe felt the same but I shouldn't have meddled with your love life. You should do whatever you like and I have no right." They both hugged it out. Nebbie was glad to be back good with Calista.

"Speaking of love life. I got a date with DeMarcus tomorrow."

"Oh...that's nice."

"Really? You can't be at least a lil happy for me."

"I am but I'm just not feeling his vibe."

"I am. I felt it last night."

"Ew didn't need to know that."

"I mean he came over after work. He good in the bed."

"Please stop talking about your sex life with that guy." Nebbie wasn't lying. She ain't the type to fake it she'll tell if she didn't like it. DeMarcus satisfied her needs well if not great. But she was missing something maybe love. She couldn't explain it but whatever it is it was in Adonis.

Adonis was in his car on his way to Megan's apartment to pick her up. Adonis hasn't went out on a date in a while, since Nebbie. He really didn't even know what they were going to talk about in the restaurant. He wasn't trying to get attached to Megan and he didn't want to rush into a relationship that he didn't want. But it was just a date who says there was commitment but Adonis feels like Megan is going to turn this date into a relationship when that's not what he wants. He hates the fact that he giving her mixed signals but she just won't leave him alone. Adonis can't say no to everything.
