AT TIMES LIKE THESE, Violet wished she listened to her sister more. It was quite obvious that Violet Evans was nothing like her dear twin sister, Lily. While her sister had striking fiery red hair and green eyes that shined with pride, she had strawberry blonde hair and emerald eyes that mirrored her sisters, but hers held mischief and a knack for trouble. This could be the reason why she was currently waiting on someone who she definitely knew wasn't going to show up. Maybe she should've just laughed when he asked her to meet with her outside of the library. She should've just smiled at him sweetly and made a sarcastic remark. But of course, she didn't use her head, and agreed to meet with him to discuss "important matters", according to him.
As she waited, she chewed a piece of green bubblegum, taking in the sour apple flavor. She honestly didn't know why she was wasting her time waiting on him when she could be studying or gossiping with her friend Alice. But like a normal person, she decided to wait, just in case he showed up. It was five minutes later when the boy came running towards her, messy hair and his glasses askew. He breathed heavily as he dropped his bag and stood before her.
"Potter." she greeted, as she leaned against the wall, taking in the boy before her. It was safe to stay that James Potter was extremely handsome, with dark messy hair and hazel eyes which were accompanied with a pair of glasses. He was well built, all thanks to quidditch and his usual running around when he was with his friends.
"Sorry I'm late Evans." James spoke as shoved his wand into his robes, and finally looked up at her. "What did you need to discuss with me?" Violet asked as she walked into the library, making her way towards the very back.
"It's about Lily." James said as he followed her, both taking a seat near a table located far from everyone else who currently resided in the library. As the words left James mouth, Violet couldn't help but roll her eyes. James was obsessed with Lily, following her around and asking her out every five minutes. This angered her sister Lily, and she couldn't help but hate the boy even more after the incident that happened last year.
James and his group of friends, which consisted of three others and were known as the Marauders, had decided it would be fun to bully Severus Snape, which led to hexes being thrown at each other. Their little game resulted in James levitating Severus and humiliating him in front of everyone watching.
Lily, being Severus best friend, began to scream at the group of boys, and begging for them to leave Severus alone. Severus then got angry and screamed that he didn't need help from a Mudblood like her.
This caused Lily to cry and angrily lash out at him, before running away. The Marauders stood shock at Severus choice of word before Violet stepped in, and hexed him like no tomorrow before running after her sister.
"I want you to help me convince Lily to go out with me. Or at least get her to go out on a date with me." James begged, desperation clear in his eyes. She stared at him before laughing. "What's so funny?" James asked confused. "You want me to help you get with my sister? Do you really think I would betray her by helping you?" she asked in a tone which would be taken as bitchy.
James face fell and Violet couldn't help but feel guilty for a split second. Maybe she could help him, she thought. No, she couldn't. If her sister were to find out, she would turn against her which would lead to the end of their sisterly relationship.
"There's Prongs!" shouted an attractive boy as he was followed in by two other boys. This caused Madam Pince to glare at the boys, dislike and hatred clear in her face. A sigh of annoyance left Violet's lips as the three boys approached them, taking a seat at their table.
"If it isn't the pretty Evans." the boy smirked at her, his gray eyes scanning the beautiful girl before him. This boy was Sirius Black, who was also very attractive and a player. He enjoyed to flirt with girls, and was never really interested in becoming something important with a girl. That was until her friend Marlene came into the picture.
"Of course. Where ever mother hen is, the chicks follow." One of the boys frowned at her, and she couldn't help but feel bad. This boy was no other than Remus Lupin, the mastermind of the Marauders. He was as attractive as James and Sirius, but in Violet's opinion, she thought he was the most attractive Marauder out of all of them.
He was tall with a well built body and sandy hair that went well with his chocolate brown eyes. His brown eyes met her green ones, and as cliche as it sounded, she felt like there was a spark in between them. She quickly looked away as she noticed the smirks present on the rest of the boys.
Remus couldn't help but stare at the beauty before him. In his eyes, she was an angel who had stolen his heart back in fourth year. She was gorgeous and extremely smart too, which led to Remus falling for her even more. He couldn't help but notice how a piece of bubblegum resided her mouth.
Before he could stop himself, the words fell out of his mouth. "Why is it that you're always chewing bubblegum?" She looked up at him surprised that he had spoken to her. He always preferred to speak to Lily, and rarely said a word to her, leading to Violet thinking that he didn't exactly like her.
A smile fell onto her lips as she blew her bubblegum and leaned in, "Why is it that you're always disappearing every full moon?" This caused all four boys to stare at her in shock, inhaling in a deep breath. Remus looked as if he was going to pass out and then Violet let out a laugh.
"I'm kidding guys! Why such the stricken faces?" Sirius and James let out a loud fake laugh, resulting in the shushing of those who were in the library. "Oh its nothing, just took us by surprise." Remus nervously said as she nodded, not really believing them.
James saw how nervous his friend was before quickly changing the subject. "So, will you help me with Lily?" The boys looked at her, except Remus as they waited for her answer. Violet smiled sweetly before standing up, gathering her belongings. "If you can convince me, I will." A groan escaped James mouth. "How am I supposed to do that?"
She just smiled at him, "Figure it out." Violet begin to walk away as James shouted out to her, ignoring the glares he was getting. "Will you at least think about it?" This caused her to come to a halt and pretend she was thinking. "No. But we'll see." she stated as she walked away, leaving the Marauders to rethink what just happened.
