Y'all I went to the Seattle Art Museum (SAM) today with BSU (Black Student Union) and we saw an amazing exhibit! The artist basically to figures off the street or a famous artist and put them in places of power. We literally spent like 2 hours in the museum just going over what the pictures could mean. You know that a picture is worth a thousand words and when I was looking at those pictures it showed that!

This picture definitely shows a thousand words. Once I saw the picture I immediately got why he created this. He's obviously making a statement about black hair, well y'all know how much of a struggle it is to go about your life when people are criticizing you about your hair. The man in the picture seems like he doesn't want to tame it and that's who he his! He doesn't want to be tamed and he's most definitely not going to start with his hair.

This picture I believe is about competition. You guys know how we've always been in competition with white women and still are, this shows that it's time for us to shine. The black woman in the picture has a tattoo on her wrist and it seems to be initials of a loved one. That clicked in my mind as well, what if those initials, that possibly represented a loved one had an experiment with a white woman? What if that person had been with that black woman but left her for the white woman because she "looked better" ? Don't be offended all women are beautiful and are appreciated, but black women are the least appreciated.
We also went to the gum wall at Pike Place Market (which I had never been before). I thought it was cool, somewhat.

After we saw the wall, we went to Red Robin, ate, then caught the bus home.
