Aria's POV
"Aria! I'm going out. I'll be back by morning. But even if I'm not, still go to school. You got it?" Derek shouted up the stairs.
"I got it. Where are you going?" I yelled back.
"I might have a lead on the Alpha, but Kate's coming back into town as well. Stay safe." Derek finished before slamming the door closed.
I sighed. Wishing I had some friends that I could invite over so I'm not alone all the time. Derek is a good brother but being the one in the family who isn't a werewolf I miss out on all the action. Which sucks.
However. It means I can use it as a guilt card seeing as he leaves me alone all the time. But if Kate is coming back into town that can't be easy on him. Not after what she did to our family. She was the Argent who set the fire, the Argent that mercilessly killed not just werewolves, but innocent humans. Images of my Uncle Peter flashed through my mind. I hadn't visited him in a while.
It was late but maybe they'd not notice me. I'm quite small so I should be able to slip past them without getting noticed. The nurses at the place where we put Peter were so bitchy and downright rude. I hated them.
Pulling on my leather jacket and tying the laces on my combat boots I proceeded to leave the house. It took me a while to get out the forest but once I got on the road, I was walking down the street. Headlights from card and lampposts where all that was preventing me from complete darkness. Turning a corner when a gunshot went off and glass broke. I jumped back around the corner, hoping no one had noticed me.
Due to my unlucky personality I felt someone's hand secure itself around my mouth as they grabbed me. Instantly I reacted. I kicked backwards connecting with the shin, I grabbed the persons arm and twisted it gaining me an advantage as I was free from the grasp.
When I saw who it was my mouth fell open.
"Derek! What are you doing?" I whisper yelled.
"Go home Aria. Go home right now. Kate is around the corner, so is the Alpha. I mean it Ria. Go home." Derek told me looking into my eyes with his hands on my shoulders. Then just like that he was gone.
I knew it was serious so I turned and pursued the streets I'd just walked down. My heart was beating fast. I didn't want to encounter the Alpha or Kate. I hated Kate with a passion and she hated me. I think if she got the chance to put a gun to my head and pull trigger, she wouldn't think twice about it. But the situation works both ways.
I got home, slammed the door and ran up to my room. I slid down my door finally taking in a great gulp of air. I had a really bad stitch from running straight for half an hour. Nothing a hot bath wouldn't solve.
Heaving myself from the floor I plodded to the bathroom and began to fill the bath up, almost to the brim. I didn't want it to over flow when I got in.
I was in there short of two hours when I thought I should probably go to bed. Calmed down and relaxed, I knew I'd have no trouble falling asleep. The minute my head hit the pillow, I was out like a light.
What I imagined could only be an hour or so later I woke up with a start. Something was wrong. Derek was hurt. I don't know how I knew but I did. It might be because Derek considers us as a small pack. It might be a supernatural link. But he was hurt. I couldn't do anything about it. However I knew I'd have to go to school tomorrow because no doubt Kate will come here looking for him.

I was in class the next day and we were getting test results back. I was sat at the back with Stiles one desk across from me and Scott in front of Stiles.
