Aria's POV

I woke up to the sound of my alarm going off. The past few nights I'd spent at a hotel in the centre of town. I didn't want to go back to the house if Derek wasn't there. But one thing I couldn't understand is that when the Police got us out the school any trace of Derek was totally gone. Including his car. I don't know what happened to him or what the Alpha did to him. I don't think I ever will.

As I pulled my blanket off I heaved myself out of bed. Since Derek's death I'd sunk into depression, nothing made me happy anymore and I felt like I was carrying dead weight on my own two feet. It was horrible.

The radio began playing on the nightstand "It's a lovely Monday morning in Beacon Hills and Beacon Hills High is open today after being shut Thursday and Friday. Police are still looking for alleged killer Derek Hale-" I shut it off. Over the past few days I'd had countless calls and messages from Scott and Stiles. All of them I ignored.

I got myself ready and called a cab. I knew going to school wasn't the best idea, but what other choice did I have? Sit around and wait for a miracle? No.

The cab pulled up next to me and I got in. "Beacon Hills High please." I said to the driver. He nodded and looked in his rearview mirror at me.

"You're Derek Hales sister aren't you?" The nosey man asked me. I nodded, avoiding eye contact.

"Do you know where he is?" The cab driver asked. "If I knew where he was why would I be going to school?"

The cab driver just looked at me before turning his gaze back to the road. After another 10 minutes he pulled up at the school. I gave him the money and prepared myself for all the stares and whispers.

Taking a deep breath, I opened the door and immediately everyone went quiet and looked at me. Choosing to ignore it I walked through the halls and straight to my locker. Cops were scattered everywhere and I caught sight of Lydia and Allison walking the halls.

"Lydia, Allison. Why are people looking at me but not at you?" I asked.

"Because no one knows it was us who was in the school that night." Lydia said. "But they obviously know of the accusations pinned on Derek."

"That's no thanks to Scott. It wasn't Derek. He wouldn't hurt me." I tried to convince myself but I felt like I was talking to a brick wall. I sighed and left the girls alone.

I walked up the stairs and saw Stiles sitting outside the principles office. "Hey, Aria!" Stiles said, getting up.

"Look, Stiles. I really don't have anything to say to you okay? Make sure Scott knows that as well." I said. Spinning around to continue walking I came face to face with the Sheriff and the Principle.

"Aria Hale." Sheriff Stilinski said. I just nodded. "Have you heard from him at all yet?" My head lowered as I shook no. It was true. Any mention of his name crushed my insides. The sheriff could obviously see my distress and decided not to press on further. They asked me many questions the night of the accident at the school. But I didn't really know what to say.

I walked into my classroom and sat down. We had a test today. I saw Scott walk in and he made a direct walk straight to Allisons Desk. "Allison..." He began.

"Mr McCall, please take a seat." Mr Harris said, interrupting them. Scott sighed but obeyed.

"You have 45 minutes to complete the test. 25% of your final grade can be earned right now by writing your name on the cover of the blue book." Mr Harris announced holding up the booklet. "However, one of you will fail to put your name on the cover and I'll be left questioning my inexplicit decision to ever become a teacher. So let's get the disappointment over with. Begin." He said starting the stopwatch. I opened my paper and looked down at the questions.
