Aria's POV

That night I was awake in bed, I think Derek was too. After the events of what happened a couple days ago I hadn't slept much. It terrified me.

I sat up and flicked my light switch on. 3am. How amazing.

I heard creaking floorboards and someone go downstairs. Knowing it was Derek I didn't fret. The front door closed quietly and the car drove off.

Where he was going at this time I'll never know.

I sat and read my book when I heard the front door open. Creaky floorboards filled the silent void.

"You know I have a life too." I heard Scotts voice echo.

"No you don't." Derek replied. I smiled.

"Yes I do!" Scott protested. "I don't care what you say about him making me his pet or-" Derek cut him off.

"Part of his pack." Derek corrected.

"Whatever, I have homework to do. I have to go to a parent teacher conference tomorrow because I'm failing chemistry." Scott argued.

"Scott. I also have to go to a parent teacher conference tomorrow for Aria as well. You wanna do homework? Or do you wanna... Not die." Derek asked. "You have less than a week until the full moon, you don't kill with him, he kills you."

"Okay, seriously. Who made up these rules." Scott asked.

I decided to get up and get involved. Making my way out of my room and onto the landing. The floor gently creaking under my feet. This house was old. Also extremely ruined.

"It's a right of passage into his pack." I said, appearing at the top of the stairs.

Derek and Scott both looked at me, neither of them looking very happy. Only annoyed and frustrated.

"You know what else is a right of passage? Graduating high school! And you don't have to kill anyone to do it!" Scott yelled.

"Why did the Alpha have to bite someone so annoying!" I said sitting on the stairs with my head in my hands. Derek briefly glanced back at me, a smile tugging at the sides of his mouth. How he's keeping his cool with Scott is a mystery to me.

"Why do you need me? Why can't you just find him yourself? Why don't you just sniff him out when he's human?"

"His human scent can be entirely different. It has to be you!" Derek explained. "You have a connection with him, a link that you can understand if I can teach you to control your abilities, you can find him"

I take it back, Derek was beginning to also get the same effects I got from Scott. The stupidity began to give me a headache.

Scott hesitated for a moment, trying to think of an answer.

"So if I help you, you can stop him?" Scott asked.

"Not alone. We're stronger in numbers, a pack makes the individual more powerful."

"How am I supposed to help if I have no idea what I'm doing?" Scott questioned with a pained look upon him.

"Because I'm gonna teach you!" Derek replied in an obvious tone. How stupid was this kid? How many times does he have to be told the same thing!
