Chapter 10

Just give me a reason,
Just a little bit's enough.
Just a second we're not broken, just bend,
And we can learn to love again
.

"Maybe we could go somewhere private?" he asked, but then removed his eyes from me.

Marco glanced over at Sebastian and Julia, before looking back at me.

"If you don't have plans?" he continued, making me shake my head.

"No, I'll just let them know" I said, he nodded.

I walked over to them and strained a smile.

"I have to back out tonight" I mumbled, playing nervously with my hands.

I hated blowing off plans, but I needed to hear what Marco had to say.

"Mila, it's fine" Julia said, giving me a smile.

I let my gaze turn to Sebastian, who just smiled at me.

"Go!"

"Yeah? You won't be mad?"

"No, of course not. Go figure this out" Sebastian said, smiling.

"Thanks" I said, letting my eyes cross from Julia to Sebastian.

We hugged goodbye, before I walked back to Marco.

"It's okay?" he asked, and I quickly nodded.

"We can take a walk?" he offered.

I was wondering, if he was about to dump me completely. Taking a walk, out in public, so I couldn't make a scene.

I think my heart skipped a beat, just thinking about it. Though, I hadn't known Marco for long, I'd become sort of addicted to him. Like he made everything bad go away and forced a smile on my face.

We walked out, keeping a certain distance between us, as we hit the streets. The cold air blew in my hair, giving me chills. We walked in silence for a while. I don't think neither of us dared to talk. Marco's eyes lit up the dark, though. They glowed, almost mesmerizing me.

"Okay, so I've been thinking-" Marco started, it made me hold my breath.

"I have some questions, I would like to ask?"

"Sure" I said, meeting his eyes.

"Lie or truth, you didn't know who I was?" he asked, looking at me.

There was no emotion, not even a smile, not anything, he was just looking at me.

"Truth" I said, short.

Marco nodded, removing his eyes again, licking his pink lips.

Gosh, how I missed those lips on my skin.

"Lie or truth, you have never done anything like that before?"

"Truth" I said, again keeping it short.

"Lie or truth, Sebastian is just a friend?" he asked, looking at me.

The question took me by surprise, so I took longer time answering it, which made Marco raise his eyebrow.

"Truth!" I said, raising mine.

"Lie or truth, you'll never lie to me again?"

"Truth! I'll never lie to you, ever again" I said desperate.

It made Marco look at me. I think he saw the pain in my eyes, because he flashed something that seemed like a little smile. Marco suddenly stopped walking, so I did the same. He looked me right in the eyes, taking a deep breath.
