"Girl he did what?!" Beatrice demands through the phone.
We're on FaceTime and I'm telling her everything that happened.
"Girl yes. Like what?! Who does that?! You can't just do that."
"Especially after he was with them other girls." Beatrice replies.
It's difficult to tell where she is, but it looks like a fancy hotel from the background.
"Yeah, so anyway, what's up. How was your flight?"
"Long as hell." She says, rolling her eyes. "But it's been good. Jacob has been working so me, Deja and Jojo have been at the beach. We'll come back very tanned."
We laugh.
"What about court?" I ask.
"The day at get back." She scoffs.
"That's crazy. You'll win within two seconds."
"Girl, I know. Someone like Ryan isn't gonna take my kids from me."
I nod chuckling.
"How was the photoshoot?" Beatrice asks.
"I loved it. I didn't realize how much fun it would actually be. It was great."
"Maybe one day we'll do one together."
"We gave to now." I tell her.
She smiles. "Good what you doing now?"
"Just laying here in Emanuel's room. I think we're going to get something to eat." I tell her.
Her eyes go away from the camera.
"Hey Beautiful." I hear Jacob greet.
She smiles wide showing all her teeth. "Hey Jacob."
"Hey Jacob." I greet.
He comes and wraps his arm around her waist and plants a wet kiss on her lips.
"Jay!" Deja yells running on the bed and jumping into his arms.
"Wassup Munchkin?" He says hugging her.
I smile at them even though I feel the tears running down my face.
"I'll, uh, call you back." I tell Beatrice gathering my voice then without waiting for her response end the call.
I want a happy ending. She always gets whoever she wanted and when I try it just ends in heart break.
The doorbell rings and Emanuel comes to get it.
"She doesn't want to see you." I hear Emanuel say.
Oh my Lord, if this man followed me here I just don't know what I'd do.
I get up and wipe my face and walk to the door.
Sure enough I see Elijah. It looks like he isn't as drunk as he was at the hotel but still under the influence.
"Eliza. Let's talk." He begs.
"You don't have too." Emanuel informs me, ready to close the door on his brother.
"I'll talk to him." I announce.
"Girls are so confusing, that is why I'm gay. You kids have fun."
He walks off and it's just me and him again.
"I know how to fix this." He tells me.
"How?"
"Together. We can mend each other. You heal me while I heal you. Eliza, you're all I've got now."
"It'll take time for me to heal. Seeing you makes me undone."
"What's love if not undone? Eliza I want a raw type of love with you."
"I can't do that right now."
He frowns and tears weld up in his eyes. "I will get your heart back. I refuse to not give you mine. Eliza, I've never had a girlfriend before I fall to easy. I stick to raw physical sex. But the moment I see you I fell in love and you smiled because you knew."
"You know I read Shakespeare. You stole that smile crap from him."
He chuckles. "Well it was either that or the one about the sun rising." He smirks.
I chucke. That was funny. I sigh. "We can be friends."
"You understand how that's never going to work right?"
I shrug. "I said actions speak louder than words. I'm not ready to add you back so this is the only offer I'm making and if you can show me maybe I won't feel like murdering you every time I see you." I explain crossing my arms over my chest.
He smiles. "Okay. I'll get you back Princess."
"Don't call me that."
He frowns.
"Not right now at least."
He nods
"Alright now bye." I tell him before closing the door.
I take a deep breath and sigh.
Let's see how this works.
